  1. 2-2 on the night was a fair result. Megwa had a great game. I really like Milne as a player, had a good game tonight and also played really well against us at Firhill. Thistle's first goal was a peach, frustrating as both their goals came from sloppy passing/defending on our part. We'll need to bust a gut to turn this around on Friday night but this should be treated as a free hit for us. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to pens which will suit our shot-stopping keeper who shites it from crosses! 4th place and the Trust Trophy is our best season in years, anything else is a bonus and that's why Thistle should be very wary on Friday. We really have nothing to lose by going for it!

He was in our end at the November game too. Must be a good Airdrie man.

He sits with our wee group at the games, stays up in Kirkcaldy and has been to all the Raith games, a couple of Dunfermline away days and a few home games too. A lovely guy, big fan of Rhys and the team too. It's always interesting to get his "in match" analysis, very knowledgeable. He'll be back in the game soon no doubt and I for one certainly wouldn't complain if he was our next manager. I like to think we've turned him into a fan!! He keeps coming back so we must be doing something right!

  3. What a bizarre league where we take 10 points out of 12 from Raith but totally f**k it up against Ayr! Got to say that the atmosphere and the performance from Raith in a must win game was very subdued tonight and that surprised me. Reminded me of last season's play off second leg game at Falkirk when I suspected the Bairns would try to batter/bully us but they totally shat the bed. Not much consolation but IMO, your steak & haggis pies are the best in the league by a mile and for that reason alone, I hope we do Thistle in the first play off match to get back up to your place one last time!

Ref was certainly getting a booing thru most of the game, but I’m sure those at the end were for the team and Goodwin as well.

Thoroughly deserved win for Airdrie, better team on the night.

Ref was a tosspot, somehow managed to book four United guys even though the team had only committed three fouls by that point, while Airdrie were up in the mid-teens.

It had no effect on the game however, and it would be poor form to deflect from an excellent Airdrie performance.

We got a fairly easy ride from the ref tonight for a change. I mentioned that to my mates at the time. If I was a Utd fan I'd be well pissed off with his performance too! Not gloating, just happy to get a result up there for the first time in a long time, totally unexpected given our recent form which makes it all the more sweeter. Still think you'll win the league though, just a bad night at the office. Great stadium, superb pies, banging tunes and an Airdrie win make it a Carlsberg Tuesday for me!

  5. We were on a high until the Hearts cup game. We looked leggy against Ayr with 3 bad defensive errors costing us the game then 2 down after 11 min against Morton on Saturday. Personally I'd bite your hand off for a point tonight! Looking forward to this, haven't been up at Tannadice since the days of Ivan Golac! I see there's a no parking zone around the stadium. Any hints on the most convenient places to park for away fans?? Cheers in advance!

Listen I would swap places with Raith in a minute,  top of the league,  very talented squad,   but Murray has been a bit of a kid on a sweetie shop signing wise,  did you really need to sign Rudden,  I have saw this lad numerous times for Thistle and Dundee and honestly not seen him have a decent game yet,  Hamilton or Smith i rate higher,  the same with Kyle Turner does he add much more to a very talented midfield,  something isn't right is it a clash of egos,  Dylan's has to be massaged, Murray is the man to do it,  an off form Vaughn and Smith are the same,

In watching Watson and Murray are 2 meat and tatties centre Half's,  who struggle in a game of pass the parcel,  so much of today's game even at our level starts from passing out from the back,  in your good run O Reilly was passing out  through the lines ...

Murray at Airdrie was as dour as f**k most of the time, but he ground out results, maybe he is struggling with a better supporting cast,  he might need to go back to basics, to get this going again..

Good luck for the rest of the season,

There's a lot to like about Raith Rovers. Seems like a good set up, doing a lot of things right but the elephant in the cupboard is Ian Murray. Had a few goes trying to get us out of League 1 but it didn't happen. Rhys comes along as a wild card, gets us up in 1 season and I'm fairly confident we'll stay up. Couldn't believe IM got a 3 year deal, I think that'll come back to bite you on the arse!!

  7. Honours are even. Fair result today and not much to add to previous comments made other than it was an enjoyable game to watch, played like a cup tie. Pleasing to see us going toe to toe on the physical side with a strong Thistle team and it was fascinating to watch the individual duels playing out all over the park, Lawless v Hancock being the standout! Very satisfying to see us develop from a newly promoted League 1 team trying to avoid relegation into a squad capable of holding our own in a very competitive league with a realistic possibility of a promotion play off spot.

    It is not.

ETA harsher than claiming a really promising young keeper is only getting a go because of his dad?

As a rule of thumb, before you post, you should think "Would my comments get me a smack in the chops if I was saying this face to face?" BTW, I'd be very interested to know how many games you've seen the young Prunts play to back up your "Really promising" tag or are you just "ITK"? 😉

Who is going to loan us a goalie to sit on the bench all season? And what goalie would want to be loaned out to sit on the bench? It defeats the purpose of a loan.

I think it will be very difficult for us to get anyone. Some clubs might use the carrot of becoming a goalie coach to get them to sign up as number 2, but we've already done that with Hutton.

Simple solution is bin Hutts and bring in a new No.2/goalie coach!
