  1. Given we’ve got a £300k hole to fill in this years budget where are we going to find the additional funds for a training ground and loss of income from pitch rental if we go back to grass.

Personally I’d stay with Astro. There’s only really been complaints about the pitch the last couple of years, prior to that it was perfect.

  2. There was a press conference and photcall today. Falkirk TV interview will be later in the week.
As far as fanfare goes, it's possible they might have some sort of "meet the manager" event during the close season. I'm guessing that if it happened it would be once season tickets go on sale.

As a club we can’t even get the basics right. Why wouldn’t you record a Falkirk TV interview at the same time as the press or even better record one at the same time as the photographer was taking the photos last week. No other club would have its media outlets being the last ones to speak to the new manager?
  3. On a slightly different subject, who is responsible for the Stadium upkeep? Some parts of the stadium and surround are a bloody disgrace. Are the club or the council responsible ?

Varies. Main Stand building and surrounds are council responsibility. North/South Stands, and pitch facing and supporter areas are Club responsibility.
  4. Agendas? You’ve had an agenda for years to cause disruption and criticise the club. Now your group are in power no-one is allowed to criticise the bod.

Nothing wrong with holding the board to account - if they do a good job we won’t have anything to complain about. AGM is a long time away and not open to the ordinary fan.

  5. Not my understanding of what happened that is why I asked about what day the 31st was.
Anyway when there is an AGM the shareholders will be entitled to ask the question and we will get the answer.

Neither you or I really know the full story.
Time we all moved on and the truth can be asked for at an AGM.

I don’t think it’s a story we can move on from. This Board were prepared to sign a rapist and destroy the reputation of the club.
  6. I was in the South Stand bar this afternoon and the CEO was visibly embarrassed when Jackie (sure you will all know her) got a presentation from the Roman Bar guys. She got flowers etc from them for everything that she has done for them.
Surely he will have twigged something is so wrong with the club at the moment when staff/volunteers are leaving

Not sure what exactly the CEO does at the club? He did a couple email newsletters when he first started and since then we’ve heard absolutely nothing from him. Certainly no visible leadership being provided.

Players, managers, directors all come and go however the staff and volunteers are those who make the club what it is behind the scenes - often going above and beyond what is expected of them. For that reason it is sad to see so many long-term staff moving on.

Whatever the summer holds the club will be a very different place next year - whether that change is for the better remains to be seen. We have however had too many false dawns and too many bad decisions have been made already by the current board (Goodwillie and Rennie) for supporters to be expected to have faith in the current regime - trust has to be earned.

I have no doubt the Deans board have set the club back years with bad decisions however I’d like to see the new board stop using that mess as an excuse and actually start offering some sort of positive and realistic vision for the next few years - and before it is asked no I didn’t go to one of the ‘meet the board’ pub events - that shouldn’t be the only way information is communicated.
  7. Who are the members of the new board, do we have a chairman yet.

None of the Directors will take on the Chairman title as they don’t want to be accountable to the fans.

Just saw on COYB that the Behind the Goals staff are all leaving - add that to the growing list of resignations from club staff tells you something isn’t right with the conduct of the new board.
  8. Don’t know if this is what the rumours are about but it was a vastly reduced price that Clarke EPOS signed up to pay after the Rawlings caused Central Demolition to walk away by demanding they more than doubled what they paid every year. Ironically they ended up with Clarke on less than Central had been paying (and were happy to keep paying).

You wonder how they manage to keep up payments for all their sponsorships given their social media is filled with football sponsorships but nothing about their products and don’t seem to have a website?

Will be interesting to see if our marketing expert on the new board can find us a new shirt sponsor for next season?

  9. If it’s not one of his mates that’s appointed him that’s even more of a concern as somebody has actually went through a due diligence and interview process then offered him the job thinking he’s the right person to take the team forward.

Maybe not one of the directors but certainly mates with one of the patrons who campaigned for him to get the job.

Also heard the process was poorly handled for the other candidates.
  10. Apparently when Kieran Kozary left the club he took his little black book of contacts with him and left no paperwork or any sponsor contact details. Sammy spent the first few days in his new job sitting in the main stand copying down the sponsors phone numbers printed on the advertising hoardings.

Every sponsor would have been invoiced through the Finance department so that’s nonsense.

What did walk out the door was years and years of relationships with Alex and Kieran.

Sammy could have been a good appointment working alongside an experienced head however the bigger issue was they chose not to replace KK and instead appoint a CEO who is not a salesman.
  11. The former youth coach and parents are putting the blame firmly on the NEW board.

I’d agree the new board do need to take some of the blame for this.

How can no-one at the club have been aware of this team? It just doesn’t add up. Holt and Fergus left months ago, has no-one noticed a team turning up to train? Someone’s clearly been coaching them. The club is not a big place so can’t believe nobody else knew.

Holt and Fergus need to take most of the blame but the new board could have handled the fall out so much better. How on earth was it going to cost £100k to run one team?
  12. 1. Commercial manager departs
    2. Supporters Society board member departs
    3. The Rennie disaster
    4. The recent youth team disaster
    5. A shocking January transfer window
Hardly a brilliant start for the new board. Be hard pushed to change this over the course of the summer and convince fans to buy season tickets.

Add to that list being very very close to signing Goodwillie (causing the board member resignations) and all the negatives that that would have involved.
