  1. I don't think I will be renewing my ST this season (and how can they call it "renewing" when I can see that my seat at Lesser has already been sold to someone else?).

If my math is correct (it almost never is), a ST gets you 4 free home matches this season, which I reckon is fewer than last season, and considering the length of my usual late summer holidays, Christmas holidays, and other spur of the moment stuff, it's highly likely that I'll miss at least 3-4 home games (like I sadly did last season) so it doesn't look like good value for money for me.

BTW this whole season ticket policy in Scotland and the rest of the UK is something that I find very disappointing and frustrating tbh. Back in Turkey, a season ticket means a ticket for ALL home matches including friendlies, Cup games, and European competition (if qualified) and it's always excellent value for money.

  2. The worst thing about this appointment is the utter lack of transparency again. If Queen's Park Football Club has officially become Willie Haughey's pet project, then come out and say it so that I, as a fan, can personally decide to keep supporting it or not. Don't get me wrong. I completely respect the club choosing to go in that direction, if that is the case. Just come out and say it.

If we’re ever promoted, there will rightly be strong opposition to the sporting advantage that we’d be gaining as a result of our own incompetence in terms of not building Lesser Hampden. You’d be looking at a seven figure advantage over rivals on the ticket money front

In the highly unlikely scenario that this actually happens, there's simply no way we would be allowed to sell unlimited tickets to away fans.

IMO, because they acted like absolute clowns when pumping a dejected, disjointed Robin Veldman side, and fluked a win over us in the run-in while telling us we'd be going down with the Arbroath.

Also, Duncan Ferguson on £5,000 a week.

The rest of your post is not opinion and is utter nonsense. Any new QP fan active at games and/or online is welcome. There will be plenty that have been here for years with wild & varying views on everything behind the scenes that we won't all agree with.

And as for your comment about being connected with Rangers or Celtic, open your eyes and realise almost everyone in this city will be. I grew up in a Rangers supporting family until I found my own way about 17 years ago. If you're going to instantly disapprove of anyone who already has Celtic or Rangers connections, you're not going to grow a support in Glasgow. We need to encourage those willing to follow QP over them.

I remember being at what I think was John McGregor's QP debut. It was away at Clydebank -league cup I think. He was 16 maybe. We were 3 nil down at half time and came back to draw 3 each. I had gone to the game instead of doing my English homework but when I got home I was so excited I decided to write a poem about the game and to submit that the next day. I expected to get hammered by the teacher for it as I was off the brief. To my surprise I got quite a good mark. Unknown to me my English teacher was a QP fan. His name was Adam McNaughton (wrote the jelly piece song) I did meet John McGregor a few years ago when buying my son's first car at Arnold Clark on Hamilton road. When the salesman heard we were QP fans he went and got John out of a meeting to see us as he worked there.

  6. I didn't say anything here until now in order not to ruin the "Sheriff" hype but letting Sheridan go is absolutely the right decision. I was really worried that he would be offered an extension, so I'm relieved. To be clear, he did his job for us to the best of his ability but there's absolutely no indication that he can keep doing that for a full season at his age.

I agree about Thomson, but that would leave the question of how you fit Thomson, Welsh, Savoury & Thomas into Davidson's preferred 5:3:2 formation

We've been experimenting with 3-4-1-2 with Dom Thomas behind Paton & Sheridan so I think Welsh, Savoury, Turner and Thomson make up a decent pool to pick from in the middle of the park. However, I wouldn't say no to a man-eating no 6 with an extra set of lungs.

If we unfortunately lost Paton this summer, who would you want to bring in as a replacement? I wouldn't mind someone along the lines of Bruce Anderson from Livi, although he might not want to join a Championship club.

I would be really (and pleasantly) surprised if we don't lose anyone from the team's current backbone. If we do, it wouldn't be the end of the world provided that we get a decent fee. After all, that is what "the project" was all about and you can't force a player to stay if he wants to go. I have recently read an interview with Paton and one can see that he is a very ambitious lad who really wants to compete at the highest possible level.
