  1. In my opinion, the Ultras have been a welcome addition and have certainly improved the atmosphere at matches.

However, like most clubs there is a small element intent on causing trouble and the club need to identify them.

Last nights scenes were a disgrace.

Just as an aside on Martin Rennie. Clearly a salesman, and quite a good one going by his CV. Those sales skills certainly broadened into an ability to sell himself too via the gift of the gab and some ambiguous statements wrt his football achievements.

The bit that recently confirmed this for me was his LinkedIn CV. His time at Falkirk has been completely erased. It has been replaced by “running his own company”. Says it all. I think it’s fair to say his football management days are now well and truly done.

Should never have been appointed in the first place.

  3. Just got my AGM papers by email. Highlights;

FFC made a loss of £1.2m in the year to 31st May 2022.

Although losses are forecast to reduce this year, the current business model is seen as unsustainable.

Options for the club will be outlined to shareholders at the AGM on 23rd February.

So if it's to be another season in L1 next year what will sustainable look like? Part time? Or pushing the boat out to get up, more 2 yr contracts to attract better players etc? Another gap? Tough task ahead for those who stood up for the rest of us.

If we do go up investment in the squad will certainly be needed and such is the history of our club and fanbase we will have ambitions of going up again.

IMO completely fan owned is not for us at present whilst we try to get back to the top league. The slow take up on FSS subs adds to my worry, and there is only so many times you can go to Patreons for more money. Far better to keep the likes of MR & SA on board just in case along with a strong fans voice.

Part owned by the fans is fine for now, we won't be a sustainable club until we reach the promised land once more. Hopefully by then we will be selling our academy developed players again for big money plus future add-ons (sustainable) and be the number one large concert venue in Scotland. Essentially where we were before the fools in charge (at the time) messed up badly.

The fans (ie patrons and FSS) have done a great job in providing the working capital required to keep the club afloat but in my opinion we will need substantial new investment if we are to achieve our stated aim of reaching the SPL by 2026.

    Yes, very frank and open.

The one thing which I would have liked to know is - ‘when does the cash run out?’ Is it November or December?

With the best will in the world, FSS is NEVER going to be able to plug the gap.

So we’re back to soft loans or a new investor.

Wasn't clear as to whether the usual donors had been approached and, if so, how amenable they would be to help.

It just all seems to be so, so late in the day when the same information was available months ago.

Their analysis of the situation was good but I’m not filled with a lot of confidence that they’ve been taking the necessary action and speaking to the right people to solve the short term problem.

I think I can now see why the FD resigned.
No mention of the AGM- worrying - probably down to the Auditors needing comfort?

    Fingers crossed.

    Excellent summary.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at the MSG meeting.
