  1. Why would any young player want to play for Mr King or a club which allows a culture of bullying young players. If rumours are true the club chaplain had to formally address the bullying claims against Mr King and his assistant Gavin which were raised at committee level and even give counselling to some of them. Another example of badly run and behind the times the clubs is.
  2. You can at Nitten Star. It’s absolutely acceptable for the manager to walk across the pitch towards supporters asking them to come and fight him while being physically restrained by his own players. Any other club and Mr King would be gone but Absent Archie won’t do a thing and Mr King knows that.
  3. The weakest president in the clubs history stands by watching everything around him burn. Clear message sent, Mr King can do whatever he wants. He can threaten to take the players away if the committee sack him. He can shout abuse and challenge lifelong supporters to a fight on the pitch in full view of everyone. He can go 20+ consecutive games across two league seasons without a win. He can get the club relegated. He can somehow manage to muck up promotion from a pub league. The list of failures is endless. He can fail time after time knowing full well Absent Archie will do nothing as he is too scared and incompetent to run a bath never mind a football club. An emergency EGM to remove Absent Archie and Mr King is maybe now the only way to save the club from going under.
  4. Rumour on the street is that the Nitten assistant coach was finally sacked this week for his embarrassing behaviour every week. Then today the manager Mr King had to be physically held back by players from fighting with supporters who were calling for his head. Not a committee member in sight as usual. Goodbye and good riddance to both, a dirty stain on the history of this once great club.
  5. It doesn’t help when the halfwit Nitten coach was all over the social media channels mouthing off and having a go publicly at the Welfare for not playing the game at very short notice a couple of weeks back. I’m sure the Welfare didn’t mind the extra motivation of being labelled as scared of Nitten. Classless and clueless.
  6. Rinse and repeat. Chris King do the right thing GO NOW and take Gav with you what an embarrassment to the club the guy is. You will not find a single supporter who wants this pair at the club, none!
  7. A couple of bad games? Nitten have lost a third of the league games played and even when they win its absolute eye watering to watch. Ask any Nitten supporter it’s terrible viewing and it’s getting worse. So a supporter cannot call it as they see it without it being an agenda? What a load of utter pi*h. Chris King said exactly those words in exactly that context at an open meeting which the committee management and supporters attended. The committee sat back and took it without reply. It was a threat, if you sack him he will make sure the players will walk away. After that the supporters decided not to attend any further forums, and no one showed up at the last one.
  8. CHRIS KING GET OUT. The guy has no idea what he’s doing. Anyone with an ounce of decency would walk but still he desperately clings on after yet another disaster. We have been relegated and have now lost a third of our league ties and on a points-per-game basis would be 5th. He bottles every important game. Yesterday he played our main goalscorer at right wing-back in the biggest game of the season. Old pals act playing his mates who are garbage. Everyone who comes into the club is via his connections at Dunbar. No tactics or identity every week the same rubbish served up. Supporters have given up and I no longer attend due to him and the club allowing this to continue. The dwindling committee are scared to do anything and have no idea how to take the club forward. Invite supporters to sit down face to face in direct conflict with Mr King as if that’s healthy then moan when no one showed up. In Mr Kings own words ‘if I go the players will go, they signed for me not this club’ as he sat next to the club committee in an open public forum. Well in that case take them with you and GET OUT NOW. And before you lot shout me down again, ask any supporter they all want rid of him and have done for a long time.
  9. Very happy to win a cup tie at long last, even if it was against pub level opposition. We can only hope it’s the start of a run of victories and good performances. The next few games are against sides Nitten should hammer.
  10. I am glad you agree about the current team. From memory, Nitten lost the last 4/5 games they played before covid ended the season. Once football resumed they then failed to win any of the opening 14 league ties. 19 league games with no victories across two seasons. They were then relegated having won 7 games across an entire campaign, in all competitions. They have not progressed into round 2 of any cup competition since 2018 IIRC, happy to stand corrected. This season the manager has stated on the club website following a 1-0 home against Burntisland Shipyard that it was “great to hold out for a win..” and they were “more like ourselves”. Burntisland currently have 1 point, along with Kennoway, the only other side they have beaten this season. Whilst others strive for Lowland League football or beyond, Nitten are happy with a 1-0 win against Burntisland. If your suggesting I can’t use a public forum to highlight these failings or my concern at them or that I must offer my assistance to the committee before I air them then you are mistaken. The committee is already elected and in place, with a remit to run the club properly and to make decisions in the clubs best interests. They agreed to serve the club on that basis and if they don’t they will be criticised. That is how football works. It is unthinkable that they allowed the club to sink down a division having not won any of the first 14 league ties, but to continue to allow it to go on this long is sheer incompetence and neglect of duty. I stopped attending some time ago and will not return, much like many others including my son. There is no connection with the team, the club, the committee or the village. I do look out for results and I do wish them luck, they are certainly going to need it now more than at most points in their history.
  11. Nitten only have two teams, the senior EOS side and the development team at Under 20s level. They have no teams playing within the SERYFA youth set up at all. You are correct in saying that Bonnyrigg have reaped the rewards of expansion, but they also work incredibly hard within the town to build relationships, encourage kids to games and are an open and inclusive club. Arniston, without any hint of the success Bonnyrigg have, are the same. Nitten have nothing. Bottom line is that the club continue to sink, continue to sign absolute dross amateur players and continue to lose games almost non stop for the last 3 seasons. But they somehow continue to trade on reputation of a bygone era with an incredible ignorance towards the current reality.
  12. No half decent semi profession or highly rated young player would consider singing for Nitten ahead of the likes of Tranent, Musselburgh, Penicuik or Bonnyrigg, for example, as these clubs are now are streets ahead of Nitten in every footballing department. They have also been caught up and overtaken by clubs like Haddington who are on the up and play a proactive part in their towns, with thriving youth set ups, improving facilities and increasing crowds. This is a club in long term decline, there are many examples of once great clubs kicking about the lower leagues, or worse
  13. Am sure the facilities will go down a treat with the amateurs in Division 2 next season. Worst playing squad they ever had and sinking like a rock. But all is fine as long as a cuppla regulars on this forum think it’s aw good no wrong can be said about the mighty Nitten Star. Living on past glory. No Nitten fans left to even comment on the sad state of affairs the club is in. If you ask a local they will tell you they dont set foot in the place. Bury yer heads aw you want it’s the truth.
  14. Nothing about Nitten Star on here? Is that because of how bad a state the club is in? Followed them for many years and this is the lowest the club has ever been. Relegated with a wimper last year and staggering from one terrible result to the next. Playing fitba that would made your eyes bleed siging players who should be playing pub fitba. How can that so called "manager" still be in a job with a record like he has. Doesnt have a clue what hes doing. Have to fear for the medium and long term future of this once great club, who are now no better than lower tier rubbish they used to regualrly hammer. See from the Spartans highlights this weekend even the park and ground looks run doon, the big selling point they had left, but other clubs have caught them up with upgraded facilites. The committee are standing idly by watching the club slowly fade into oblivian, accepting the decline like its ok. Allowing the ship to sink. They couldnt run a bath. Anyone from Nitten want to comment, or has everyone just given up and accepted the club is done. Someone switch the lights off on the way oot, only a matter of time before they are in the bottom divisoin.
