  1. Aye and? Better with two players that are actually scottish, One of them who was poty in Scotland and scored 31 goals.
  2. Got to drop this 3 at the back pish! Our defence is shite, so we might aswell sacrifice that and chuck another attacking player in the line up and actually get some fecking width in the team and have a bit of a go. There was times against Germany where there was no outball and no one on the wing, we Need to change that or we will get beat again. For me it should be a 4-2-3-1 formation, I would make several changes to the starting line up, Clark Ralston Hanley Cooper Tierney Mctominay Gilmour Forrest Mcginn Robbo Shankland
  3. I think part of that problem is English clubs nicking all our best young talent due to them paying extortionate wages to 16 year old players who are breaking through at the likes of Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and Dundee united. I heard Neil Lennon mentioning this on the radio a couple of weeks ago and I thought he was absolutely spot on in that he thought if clubs could keep hold of these types of young players and promote them to 1st team then it would benefit the country massively. Just look at how Aaron Hickey, Josh Doig and Lewis Ferguson all developed at Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen respectively and have went on to develop in Italy and England to become really top players. I think the main onus is on the parents or those guys though, they need to not see the pound signs in there eyes and put the development of their kids first and hopefully we should see alot more talent emerge in the future. I don't know if it would be possible for the SPFL to bring back the two academy graduates rule that used to be around (as in you would need to have a minimum of two players from your academy in match day squad or even in the starting line up would be better imo.
  4. I've always like the song Caledonia, Think that's a much better anthem than Flower of Scotland.
  5. Fair points to be fair. It just feels all so frustrating, I think Hickey, Ferguson and dykes are Huge misses for us too. We need a better goalie too, not convinced with Gunn.
  6. How many Australian players belonged at the last world cup? When they reached the last 16? How many Welsh players outside of Gareth Bale belonged at the Euros when they went to the semi final? Excuses, excuses. The fact is we have as good a group of players as we are ever likely to get, But they didn't turn up, for what reason I don't know.
  7. Yep Agreed mate, Clearly Germany are a better team, I agree they have players playing at a higher level than ours, However they're not a France, They're not an England or Portugal etc I suppose my main gripe with Scotland tonight is that we have seasoned Epl players in our team, Guys who should know how to close down space and attempt to stop Germany from doing what they like with the ball, Kroos has a cigar in his mouth and slippers on We could all see it unfolding like a car crash but nothing was done about it, The players sleepwalked and ended up 2-0 down within the first 20 mins, We have our captian (the vice captain of Liverpool) not attempting to put pressure on their winger for the cross for the first goal, I just found it an extremely poor performance all round, Like I say wasn't expecting us to win but I expected alot more from Scotland and more professionalism and organization, They look like they are just happy to make up the numbers imo.
  8. He cost us tonight, I like him and think he has something about him but he has misjudged that tackle badly, he's a stupid boy, If he doesn't get sent off we would probably only lose 2 or 3 nil at best, That could prove vital in terms of goal difference for getting through as the 3rd best team etc.
  9. Disagree, Our squad isn't pish though imo, Robertson, Gilmour, Christie,Mcginn,Tierney, Mctominay all EPL players Then you have, Adam's, Armstrong, Hanley, Cooper, Gunn and McLean all ex EPL players, That's 12 players with EPL experience under their belt in our Squad, having played in one of the best leagues In The world. When you add in the winning machines of McGregor, Forrest etc then we should be competing a hell of a lot better than what we did tonight. 5-1 is an absolute embarrassment of a result for our team, players and management.
  10. Don't know mate? But it's just just weird that we seem to drop our heads quickly at major tournaments, other countries with less quality than this Scotland team/squad can do well at major tournaments, yet Scotland can't? I find it very strange. I mean just look at Australia and Morocco at the last world cup, would you say they are better than this Scotland team? So why can they go far in a tournament ?and we look like we are going out at the first hurdle?
  11. What gets me is that I can never understand why Scotland can't perform in a big game at a big tournament? How can Australia give Argentina a game and lose narrowly at the last world cup and how can Iceland beat England at the Euros in 2016 or whatever it was ? Yet every time Scotland are up against a semi decent opponent, we shite the bed ? Why is that ? It's not about the players because their are teams who have worse players than us that do well in major tournaments, so what is it? Mentality? Stage fright?
  12. Zander has 15 clean sheets in scottish premiership this season, and had an outstanding season for Hearts, how many did Gunn have in the English championship? I geniunely think there is an argument for Clarke to be in.
  13. That was very poor, No getting away from it, I know Germany are a good team, but we made them look like they are the best team in the tournament, which they are not, in fact I would argue that they would be struggling to get into the top 5 teams tbh. I think England, France, Portugal, Italy and Belgium would all beat this Germany team, maybe even Croatia as well, We didn't deal with Kroos and their quick switches of play from right to left and vice versa, they totally exploited our weaknesses and we did nothing to counter until it was too late, I'm happy that we qualified and mostly was happy with the Job Clarke is doing but we are off to a shocker now in the tournament and can't keep talking about mismatches, other smaller teams are able to make it more difficult against the bigger teams, so im afraid to say that if things don't improve against Switzerland and Hungary then questions will need to be asked about the mentality and effeciency of the players and management of the Scotland team. Must do better.
  14. GD out the window now! If we want to get through we need a win and a draw minimum against the Swiss and Hungary. Cannae see it.
  15. Btw if we don't get a shot on target, has that ever happened before at a major tournament?
  16. Hopefully we can get a 0-0 draw in the 2nd half, If we concede anymore it could get extremely embarrassing
  17. Wow what an awful performance! Wasnt expecting much but that was bad, where do you start? Robertson not getting near the germany winger for the the first goal, Ralston getting absolutely roasted on that side, Clark not adjusting the team when he can see that we are getting battered, then Porteous selling the jerseys there with an outrageous tackle. Not good.
  18. Not sure how this one will go but basically I think we need at least a draw to keep 3rd place alive. Would go with Clark Smith Sibbick Rowles Cochrane Gino Devlin Haring McKay Shankland Humphrey’s It's possible we could see Kuol and Oda on earlier and maybe potentially some youngsters from the B team introduced, I hope we see a surprise inclusion like a Finlay Pollock in the match day squad at the very least.
  19. I'm pretty certain it will be no one on that list.
  20. It was tounge in cheek tbh, it's very unlikely (the guy does love scotland though) but that's why I said someone like avb, not meaning avb exactly, I guess i would just like to see an ambitious appointment made, aim for the highest that we can get etc, if we get knocked back then fair enough, but at least try to get someone of a high calibre.
  21. Firstly would like to commend the club for coming to the right decision of getting rid of Neilson, it's never nice when someone has to lose their job and I don't wish him any bad will but the guy just didn't have a clue, the football was atrocious and he just did not have a plan b when things were going south, Also like others have said we already have more losses now with 7 games left than we did in the entirety of last season, we were clearly going backwards and it just seems as if he was too stubborn in certain situations i.e formation, style and favourite players to truly turn things around. Now that it's done I feel a great weight has been lifted and am feeling more positive about the future, in terms of a new manager I am happy to see a Naismith or a Locke (maybe both) take the club until the end of the season and see what happens, I geniunely think they can't do any worse than if we had stuck with Robbie. once we get to the summer we need to take our time and sound out a top manager who is tactically switched on and has more than just a plan a, hopefully someone who focuses and brings a style that instills confidence in our best attributes and does not worry about the opposition. Would love to see the club be ambitious and maybe go for someone like an AVB (andre villas boas) or someone left field like that.
  22. For me Neilson has to go tonight, the club must act now, it's not even about 3rd anymore its more about the fact that we are going backwards, the club stuck with him (neilson) after we lost to brora 2 years back and I wanted him gone then, It almost looked like the club was proven right when we got third place last season but now it is as clear as day that Neilson has lost the dressing room, we are now down to 4th after being clear in 3rd and at one stage 11 points ahead of the team who are now 3rd, that is completely unacceptable and its actually a capitulation, Robbie thank you for a couple of third place and finishes and getting us out the championship but you are not the man to take us anywhere, it's time up.
  23. Can't see anything other than a Tic win unfortunately, would love to be proven wrong and us actually turn them over for once but I honestly just can't see it. If shankland Is fit we have an outside chance imo but it is still a slim one tbh it seems like half our team are out through illness as well. You never know though I felt the same when we played them at Hampden in 2012 and we won that day so hopefully its a good omen. I would go with a back 4 and try to throw them off a bit Clark Smith Sibbick Rowles Cochrane Devlin Snodgrass Gino Grant McKay Shankland Prediction is 1-2 to them after ET. Hope I'm wrong.
