I wondered that too, but reflected the club might give him a warmer farewell rather than “Gardner is leaving”. Plus, some of the comments I’ve seen on social media from supporters and former club officials suggested it was a bit of a shock, or at least unexpected.
I think most people were shocked he was still with us.

He has substantial football knowledge and a Queens Park heritage and so would be worth considering.
We’re not looking for a guy who gets 5/5 on the sports round at the pub quiz, we're after someone that wins games, something that MM does not do.

Ok I take it that’s a no. I have no time for racism in any form and while that is obviously wrong why do we accept the bile that comes down from the stand at two particular grounds in Glasgow. I grew up in Glasgow and have been there with qp , sat in the stand with my then eight year old daughter and was called far worse than what mackay’s email said. So it’s rightly wrong to call out comments on skin colour but you can say anything you like about their religious beliefs.
How is that relevant to Queen's Park?

It just sounds like he is butthurt from being blocked on twitter from Veldman and going off his P&B posts, it’s probably the wisest decision Veldman has made in his QP tenure.

He is not a nice guy
What evidence do you have to make that claim and I’ll stop you before you mention post match interviews.

If only we had signed the boy David, strenthened our midfield capability and brought his experience to our team. He scored another goal yesterday, that is 4 since he joined Inverness and I don't think that they have lost a game since he signed. He lives in Edinburgh which is 45 minutes from Glasgow. Come on Committee did we try to sign him?
This is a weird obsession you’ve got here mate.

Some Queen’s Park fans like to live in misery, it’s clear we’ve turned somewhat of a corner with our recent displays, just need to actually win a few games but playoffs are not out of reach

Veldman hinting at a wee bit of stability, fewer yoong QP randoms being flung in over the next wee while.
I’m a big fan of the interviews, pretty revealing glimpse behind huge scenes.
Liked the idea of the captain group and having different levels of players involved.

Tonight did seem like a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel moment and if we had a in form Paton then we win that game by a few.
Hopefully, it’s a sign of better things to come and we can kick on from here.
Veldman is safe for another week at least.

For anyone not tuned to a crank radio station for their QP updates…

"why would you want to leave a big club to go to Ajax who are in relegation trouble!”
Has he not looked at the league table recently?

Absolutely. We needed his f**k-this-shit-I'm-running-with-the-ball attitude in the second half when it was clear Morton can't score
Morton didn’t score because our defence worked. If you have your CB running out of position that tends to lead to a breakaway and a 1-0 victory to Morton.

Side note: I think Fox would have made a difference if he started today. He should have come on in the second half when it became obvious that Morton can't attack.
Really bringing on a centre half to win a game?
one of the few positives from yesterday was that Tizzard and Bannon looked fine as a pair at the back. Only thing I would say is their passing could've been quicker

It really is dire, isn’t it?
The fact that you have to bring on McCormick to try and change the game shows that we don't have the squad to actually scare anyone in the league.
They really do take us for mugs charging 20 quid for that.

Obviously I haven’t seen much of Queens Park and don’t know the players well. Based on yesterday though, I thought Fox was more of a liability at CB than Thomson. His positioning was all over the place.
Just to be clear, I'm not criticising Thomson, actually its the opposite. He should be in the middle of the park where he excels. Also, having a lightweight Healy in the midfield three is not going work.
Fox was a player who bossed L1 when he arrived and a new messiah was crowned. He has came crashing down to earth since then.

I think we've certainly got a bit too cute with playing Thomson at centre-back. Also, worryingly he's actually third in the depth chart for CB - recruitment is not there. He was sadly missed in the middle yesterday as no one else was willing to dribble with the ball to create some openings.
I really do think we have leaned into the youth movement too much, i's great to have players progressing from the academy but when you look at yesterday's bench, who comes on to save the game. It cost £20 to get into the game yesterday and I think watching a bunch of teenagers get outplayed by bang average sides is going get old very fast.
Also what does Jarrett need to do to get a run in this side, what's the point of bringing him on at 80 min yesterday, borderline offensive to the man.

Anyone thinking we’ll get anything bespoke off Adidas is off their head.

Worked out much, much better for us in the long run. Said as much in the immediate aftermath of the game and it proved to be. Without that happening we wouldn't have jettisoned Hughes which would've been catastrophic for the club.
Who knows, maybe another season in league one would've seen QP grow more organically, and put more focus on Lesser Hampden. It's odd how these things work out.
We had a successful season last season, what the f**k are you talking about?

Same thing crossed my mind. Maybe he is more suited to the Indian game. Do we cut and run or hold out for a fee?
We aren’t getting a fee for Eze, come on

I would hope that any signing won’t be happening without a new gaffer being there to vet them. If it’s all on the say-so of Beuker then we’re going down the Ellis path again. I don’t believe that’ll happen, so logically, gaffer first followed by players.
Beuker will have final say on signings. Coyle’s signings were hardly a hit, where they?

Committee is meeting tonight. Don’t know if that will be a prelude to anything or not.
Would be classic QP to feel that they have to officially tell the commmittee something before announcing it to the rest of the plebs

Really dragging out this stadium news, you got to think we've made a decision so it's mad that they've not announced anything.

I won't be rushing to renew my season ticket until we have answers to all three.
The only issue I see at the moment is the lack of stadium news. The new manager will be sorted shortly, I'm glad we don't seem to be going for the first name in the phone book approach. The squad will be shaped in the months of June, July and even August. It's only June 2nd.
