Surely those aren't all polis running in for a pile on?

I am going to use my detective instincts to say at least the guy with the wellies who threw the chainsaw over the wall wasn't.

Aye,the guy with the wellies was the only one sensible enough to isolate the weapon properly

Frenchies are horrible, grumpy wee dogs. I don't get the appeal of them at all.  However If it was a bite that was because small child gouged eyes of dog, then owner needs to ensure child and dog supervised at all times. As any owner with small kids and dogs should do. They'd have a better chance of rehoming if they gave context.

Surely the owner just saying "they're usually really friendly" rather than actually supervising the dog or the child should suffice?

So many things about watching games in the pub that I’m sure I’ve listed before but one is people who turn up well after kick off, Spurs game today and there was maybe 25 folk in at kick off and about 60 at half time. Pubs showing football should have a rule that you’re not allowed to watch the game if you’re not in for kick off.

Also seen a family all decked out in Rangers gear walking through the town during the middle of their game today, if you’re a fan why aren’t you watching the game.

What if you say you're not in to see the game specifically, just in for a pint -can you get in after KO then?but what if, then, you cast sneaky glances at the screen?

I don't think it's the most ludicrous conspiracy theory that governments support and encourage dissenters in enemy states.

It's also not ludicrous that people just oppose their politicians supporting genocide

I don't think the prices for the bus or tram journeys are a ripoff.

You obviously do - so can you give me an example of any airport that offers 2 public transport options to the city it serves, for less than £8 or £9 return?

    Sofia,Poznan,Nantes,Lisbon,Porto,Athens,Budapest,Berlin,Marrakesh,Singapore,Warsaw(from Chopin,not modlin),Wroclaw,Málaga;just ones I've been to,plenty more I'm sure

You said the public transport options are expensive.

    They are demonstrably not.

As a comparison, the Glasgow airport to city return bus journey costs £16..........

Glasgow's being a ripoff too doesn't make Edinburghs any better

  7. 4 hours ago, Leith Green said:

Its £8 for a return on airport bus, £9 for a return on the tram.

Based on the many countries I have visited, these public transport options are a fucking bargain......................................

    We'll agree to disagree

The  fact that Edinburgh's tram system charges considerably extra only for the airport,a mere 400m from the last stop at ingliston, tells you all you need to know

Edinburgh Bus Station could be 'lost' over lease decision - BBC News

Edinburgh’s central bus station could be relocated to Ingliston

Edinburgh’s bus station could be forced to relocate after its owners told the city council its lease would not be extended.

Coal Pension Properties, which manages investments for former coal workers’ pension schemes, could look to sell the Elder Street site for housing. The local authority’s tenancy of the transport hub is due to expire in 2027. No replacement site has been identified, but the council’s transport spokesperson admitted the facility could be “lost”.

Councillor Scott Arthur the authority was “considering his options”. He said he was “disappointed that such a modern and well used piece of Edinburgh’s substitutable transport infrastructure may be lost”.

It is understood Ingliston Park and Ride could be used as a temporary measure if the station were to close, though councillors would prefer a site closer to the city centre.

The 18-stance station originally opened in 1957, but closed in 2000 as part of a £50m redevelopment project which also included the Harvey Nichols department store. A row over the fees for operators to use the station briefly threatened its reopening, with plans drawn up to move it to the nearby Waverley Railway Station in order to connect buses with train services. However it became operational again in February 2003 – four months after its initially scheduled completion date.

Ingliston would be fine if the price of your bus ticket gave you 1 free onwards trip on the tram to the centre but, let's face it,that won't happen

I do like this competition and it has been a great addition but the 2 winners so far are from Italy and England and this years final could be from they 2 as well. I don't grudge Roma and West Ham their titles as the CL has become a closed shop. I would hope over the next few years we see teams from nations out with the top 5-6 ranked countries win this or the Europa.

I was, obviously, having a wee laugh at our arrogant southern neighbours expense given their past week in Europe

No particular liking for them at all,but I'd love to see olympiakos win it,I hate seeing these trophies being used merely as a means for teams from the more established nations getting closer to the "dream" of CL qualification ie riches

Mate of mine used to be the manager of a paint shop in Liverpool back when the company was sponsoring Liverpool FC. Part of the sponsorship deal was the players could get a pot of paint or two if they were doing any re-decorating. Two Scottish internationals used to turn up seperately every week accompanied by a painter with his van and they would literally fill the van. Full pallets at a time. At first my mate would phone his boss for permission but was told to shut up and not cause a fuss.

You'd think these millionaire players wouldn't worry about money so much but they were absolutely shafting the sponsors.

No excuse but tbf ,back when Liverpool were sponsored by crown, players weren't unimaginably wealthy like they are now.

Nevertheless, what they were doing sounds almost fraudulent

That won't help trust me and it'll give you a bad smell also once you sweat a little, you get what you pay for with these tops

Had several knock offs over the years&never a problem

You honestly think that the outrageous pricing of the official general issue tops is because they're quality garments?

The dhgate look the part but the material used is shite, it's a pure sweat box so I would advise against wearing it in warm weather

With the money I save I'll purchase several cool, refreshing beers if it's a little warm

  13. I really hope these fan zones are massive money losing failures for the greedy fucks attempting to fleece people,be nice if struggling pubs close by are rammed at the same time(i know pubs are expensive nowadays but at least youre getting something nice for your cash)

There appears to be no organisation.  It's not the first time when entering the tin shed that it's largely empty, but you still have to walk up and down the lines.  Nobody with the brains to open a shortcut to speed things up.   There's also the usual question of why no dedicated desks for UK passport holders, but that's not the airports problem I guess.

    Absolutely this

Given the numbers that were approaching passport control(looked like 3 aircraft full)the sensible thing would be to get the first lot of folk to the booths&machines ASAP but no;they are aware that the whole point of these tape things is that you can proactively funnel people efficiently by opening&closing it?perhaps not

My passport never works at egates in the UK, but anytime abroad and having to use them, it works.  Work that out.

Basically, Edinburgh Airport cannot cope with the amount of flights it handles.  In reality the terminal building needs demolished and rebuilt

I think a lot of the problems at the egates is user error, having someone to actually help would help I'm sure;I asked the guy exactly how to do it yesterday&it actually worked for once,no coincidence I'm sure

The rest of the passport control experience was a fucking shambles though, marching people up&down those string lines whilst they were waiting for people to process at the booths/terminals,people meanwhile queuing from the top of the stairs, embarrassing stuff, you actually think are they doing this to be as awkward as possible?

Discovering this thread 9 years later.   It's not changed, well, you pay a shitload more to drop off/pick up.

Landing into Edinburgh from outwith the UK/Ireland and then having to climb 3 flights of stairs if you're not fortunate enough to have an air bridge, walk along small gloomy corridors, back down 3 flights of stairs and then face the disaster that is the Border Control tin shed is a terrible welcome to Scotland.  Last year I spent an hour trying to get through after landing from Madrid, 1 person on the desks and the e-gates working for about half the people.

    The egates are a shocker

If the member of staff there concentrated on helping folk with them rather than being surly im sure they'd be much more efficient

But yes,an appalling welcome to Edinburgh, swiftly followed by the airports public transport option ripoffs,I suppose it'll get people into the mindset of how they'll be treated in the city
