It might just be my individual situation (40 odd year old, been going to FP for 30+ years, young family taking up more of my time).

But yesterday was really a prime example of how I am beginning to struggle with watching us. Probably should be happy getting a point from that but again come away with a very 'meh' feeling.  Aware of the various reasons but the lack of quality throughout and lack of tactical nous/plan B/managerial stubborness is wrestling me down I have to say.

I'm not chucking my season ticket or anything but I'm finding increasingly easy to miss games for other events etc.

Really really hope next season Kettlewell can build an identity that is pleasant to watch, has some sort of other system that doesn't rely on wingbacks and can get more MFC academy players into the team

We were all saying the same yesterday where I sit.

Came to the conclusion that watching the same turgid football going on for 3 seasons now has dulled our expectations to the point where you just expect the same every game and become used to it.

That's more of an observation on the quality of the League and the fear factor of relegation.

Even more depressing is we all think it'll be more of the same for the foreseeable future continually trying to avoid the dreaded 2 bottom spots.

Of course we're probably not alone in thnking that amongst our support along with fans of other clubs in a similar position.

Ever optimistic I'll still renew my season ticket like I've done for 40 odd years and hope that next season is "the one".

Just spotted Airdrie are in a strong spot for the play-offs. Anyone care if they come up or not? I started going to games mid 90's so just a bit too young to have any sense of that rivalry.

The old Broomfield was a great place to watch a game with a terrific atmosphere when we played up there. Section B and all that, blood and thunder on the park and running battles outside, happy days.

Remember having to walk there and back from Motherwell one New Year when all the buses and trains were off and getting chased through Chapelhall on the way home.

St Peter’s will have a team on the park this Saturday

Amateur team Afghan Utd who gave a really good account of themselves at a higher level than they're obviously used to and were unlucky to lose a last minute goal against the Albert.

If you don't count today's match, Campbeltown only have 9 matches left to play.

The rules will decide what happens about today's non-game in due process.

I was thinking more along the lines of possibly getting into midweek territory which would be a nightmare but I suppose the season could be extended for the 4th division to avoid that situation should it arise.

Couldn't see any team being able to make the journey down there midweek for a 6.30/7pm kickoff with a full squad.

I’d think the ambiguity of the question, and the lack of ability to put forward questions etc probably contributed to this. I’m not suggesting it should/could have been done differently (except the wording), but it wasn’t really an “engaging” process, which I think you need to get a lot people to bother.

If you don’t feel the question is worded correctly, can’t communicate that (ie  the way you’re voting doesn’t quite reflect your feelings) and your answer has to be binary, I can see why some people wouldn’t have a clue which way to vote far less anything else. That and there’s no real peril with not voting at this stage, worst case you see the options on the table - hardly a driver to vote for the undecided.

I think thats it in a nutshell.

People Ive spoken to are a bit unsure of what to vote for so just haven't bothered and think that they'll just wait and see what the offers look like before deciding.

Happy to agree in principle but the crunch will be what's in the fine print.

The stuff I've seen on Facebook and twitter in9 particular re Kettlewell has just been way over the top in my view and it's been going on for months. I honestly look at some peoples tweets and wonder why they support the club. Btw I'm not trying to suggest that fans can't have opinions but last night the team selection went up on twitter and out come people criticising -and we've not kicked a ball.

I really dont understand the mentality of these people who only criticise and never post anything positive.

I've tried to engage with them at times in the past but it gets a bit tiresome when you're continually called a happy clapper so I just avoid it all now and keep to this bastion of sensibility with the occasional foray into SO when I get the urge to self flagellate (although it is getting better with some new members)

To be honest, I can go along with this. I donate a 5er a month, it's gone before it even hits the bank. The only reason I actually donate is because I missed out a ticket to St Mirren away in the Scottish cup a few years ago (before the 4-4 replay) and tickets went on sale to ST holders and Society memeber's, and I was Season ticketless at the time.

I am fortunate enough that I could up that payment so if something like that was to happen, chances are I would but I kind of selfishly just haven't bothered my arse to this point.

Has there ever been a campaign of this sort?

I'm actually amazed that having been a WS member since the start I've never heen contacted to see if I would be willing to up my monthly contribution.

Hopefully with the changes someone with a bit of sales and marketing experience will address that.

I'm pretty sure that with a bit of effort the monthly contributions could be increased dramatically.

There's that, but it also puts to bed the discussion on whether we should part ways at the end of this season. I'd also say that most fans are being pretty level headed about the manager - he's liked, people know the limitations he's working in and he's shown he's got it in him to get us playing some good football (yes even this season). Everyone knows the results haven't been good enough but the seethe just isn't there and you can see that in how this extension has been received, a few grumbles but mostly okay with the news.

I should caveat that I haven't been on steelmenonline - no idea how it's going down over there.

Surprisingly it seems to have been taken rather well so far.

I might be miles out and others might disagree, but my perception of Kelly is that his performances often reflect the mood in the camp.

When we are doing well (his loan spell, the run-in last season, when Alexander was shitfesting wins), you tend either to not notice him, or only hear good things about him.

As soon as the chips are down and we are playing badly, he seems more likely then to make things worse than better and that's when all of his mistakes come out.

Goalkeeper and captain are two roles who you need to step-up during a crisis. Unfortunately, ours is the same guy and he doesn't.

On another topic, had a chuckle at this sentence. Looks like the club asked ChatGPT to write them a jargon-heavy, sophistocated sentence about a financial / data partnership.

This strategic collaboration will empower us with cutting-edge analytics tools and invaluable financial insights, propelling the club into a new era of data-driven decision-making.

    OR

Just check the f*****g bank statements.

  10. Quick question for anyone able to answer.

Was talking in the pub last night about how loan deals actually work in terms of how the player on loan is paid.

Does the club he's on loan to pay their share of his wages up front or on a weekly/monthly basis to the parent club and hes paid directly from them, or does each club pay their share less tax n.i  individually to the player.

Took our minds off deadline day at least.

Have you any other players that Robbo and Foyle will be going after?

I don’t think I remember so many players and staff making the journey from one club to another in such a short space of time.

If we go after your match day announcer, mascot and tea lady then I think someone is really taking the piss.

ETA : I know they have not all been direct transfers but you know what I mean. 😂

Suppose its inevitable when you're looking at an ever decreasing player pool then you're going to try and get players that have played for you at some time and know if they'll fit into your system.

I'm sure at some point in the future there'll be a player that can boast to have played for every SPL team outwith the Old Firm.

Doesn't say much about the talent coming up through the lower leagues though.
