  1. the central/spafa has been on a downward spiral for years. a once very well ran league has allowed itself to stagnate and only take care of the “big” clubs if you will, and even at that is a stretch considering they’re all leaving. it’s what happens when you don’t take care of ALL clubs in the league..
  2. Not really understanding why notre dame were moved down to development from 1B. Lot of clubs played them and paid money for parks/refs/kit washes already, to then be told the points have been wiped and they games mean nothing..pretty poor
  3. I don’t think affiliating leagues up to WOS/EOS is gonna make a difference in costs of running an ammy club, which is effectively the biggest reason a lot of clubs are folding, with players committing coming second to that. The costs for training facilities, and parks on a sat are ridiculous, and will only continue to get more expensive. The so called bigger teams may look to the future and move to junior/semi pro set up, but there will always be new amateur teams starting up, and unfortunately older ammy teams folding, it’s happened for years now it’s just speeding up at a faster rate because of the above reasons.. some leagues and clubs are thriving, and that’s to do with commitment of players which is excellent to have and I appreciate not all clubs have this. Reckon a lot of leagues will look to either merge once it gets unsustainable, or move to sat morn as they right now, look like the only viable options to prolong teams in amateur footy ️
  4. Milngavie Wanderers (CALE) have now folded..sat morn team still continuing the name but that’s another big name gone. Been around for years
  5. second round draw tomorrow where it opens up to all regions, and a lot of first round ties still to be played from last weekends postponements and replays. im sure everyone is after a big away day while the weather is still decent(ish)
  6. with st pats going out, a lot of big teams will fancy their chances, along with some perhaps smaller names hoping to get luck of draw on route to latter stages..magic of the cup! just look at steins, ekrr + ek colts all getting to last 4 with former making the final, they’ll fancy it again as will some more lesser fancied sat afternoon + morn teams. second round draw I’m sure is this week or next midweek, and second round opens up to all regions so will be some interesting ties for sure.
  7. some ties tonight but most of round 1 kicking off tomorrow for the sat scottish ammy cup. Who do we all think this season? Any surprise teams looking to get far like last season? Any big names to go out early?
