  1. Some absolutely brilliant suggestions here. Thanks to all. Hopefully they'll make an appearance at https://www.whatastramash.com
  2. This is exactly the kind of player I'm looking for...! Cheers!
  3. McCourt definitely fits the bill. All the skill in the world; slightly maverick talent; sheer genius in spells. Bit like this guy eh: https://www.whatastramash.com/products/jacki-celtic-t-shirt-dariusz-dziekanowski?variant=47653428134228
  4. Theo Snelders... would he be considered a cult or unsung hero of Aberdeen...??
  5. Interesting. Was there not some gossip in the dim and distant past about him being somewhat of a fanny rat as well??
  6. Did you not rate him?? I thought he was very decent at Hearts...
  7. I do remember the trend of a lot of ex-Hearts players ending up at Falkirk, and even more so - Airdrie. Chris Waddle at Falkirk eh... mental. I loved Waddle as a player.
  8. He was utterly useless 90% of the time at Hearts too to be honest. I can't remember him being at Falkirk?! I can picture him in a Partick Thistle top but can't remember him at all being a Bairn.
  9. Happy to say I was at this game. Was still at high school, and remember vividly the carnage in that end! Good times. Fozzy definitely deserves the 'cult hero' tag. I believe he ended up working as a postie post-football.
  10. Cult hero? Think you're mixing up your L's and your N's mate
  11. I thought he was an excellent servant for Hearts. Model pro, always put a good shift in and seemed like a decent fella.
  12. For any Jambos who are not on the Kickback forum, this is the list of (most of) the unsung heroes submitted there... Scott Crabbe Don Cowie Stephane Mahe Sandy Jardine Alex McDonald Suso Willie Gibson Adrien Mroweic Jim Brown Iain Jardine Bruno Aguiar Julien Brellier Roddy MacDonald John Millar David Obua Phil Stamp Ryan Stevenson Ibrahim Tall Neil MacFarlane Walter Kidd Alan Gordon Samuel Cammazola Miko Pasquale Bruno Mark De Vries Valois Neil Berry Donald Ford Mike Galloway Steve Fulton Juanjo Jimmy Bone Tosh McKinlay Peter Haring Sandy Clark Tommi Gronlund Olly Lee Dikamona Ozturk Milinkovic Harry Cochrane Zeefuik Ian Black Neil Pointon Dave McPherson Roman Bednar Stephen Elliot Darren Barr Larry Kingston Kenny Black Brian Whittaker Bobby Prentice Kenny Aird Eddie Thompson Calum Elliot Tommy Flogel Jim Townsend Davie Cline Chopper McLaren Ruben Palazuelos Tommy Murray Ally Mauchlen Jimmy Dunne Pat Byrne Derek O’Connor John Brough Zaliukas Robert Tomaschek Kevin McKenna Wayne Foster Freddie Glidden Ernie Winchester Railed Jensen Craig Beattie
  13. I can't remember anything at all about Scheidt except his name. Was he in ANY way decent??
  14. I'm creating it for myself chief, and for a personal project (a website). I asked the same question in a Hearts forum recently tho, and ended up with over 150 players! It was totally fascinating, some of the names that popped up. e.g. a guy called Andy Thorne who played ONE game for Hearts. Drafted in by Jim Jeffries, Thorn was an ex-Wimbledon 'crazy gang' member I believe. Very interested to see the names that pop up from other teams. Thanks for your suggestions! Peter Houston's name has popped up a few times speaking to other Falkirk fans I know. I only relate to him as a Hearts coach, but he must have made an impression on you folks...
  15. Is he a cult hero for you? (as a cult manager kind of thing..?)
  16. To kick off: My team: Hearts My cult heroes: - Phil Stamp (underrated, slightly overweight, very talented). - Pasquale Bruno (tough reputation, merited - but also silky). - Ian Baird - fairly gash as I remember, but gave us newspaper clippings to stick on the wall like the attached photo:
  17. Hello folks, I’m trying to curate the ultimate list of Scottish football cult heroes. Can you help? Add your own club heroes in the thread… There’s a few parameters though… I’m not looking for your obvious cult heroes or club legends, I’m looking for more quirky, oddball suggestions. Players that may have been outrageously talented, but didnae give a f*ck. Or they did, but sporadically. And on their terms. And around their 'lifestyle choices'. They may have been limited in footballing talent, but had a strong moustache game. They may never have driven Ferraris, but they drove your fans wild with their 'get stuck in' attitude. They gave 100% and liked an agricultural tackle or two. The only 6 pack they had was the one in the fridge of the Tennent's variety with wifies on the sides of the tins. They may have only been at your club for a very short period, but they made their mark. You get the idea! Cheers! BTW: I am trying to get design suggestions for the designer of this site: https://www.whatastramash.com
  18. I'm not sure if this would be a business model attractive enough for investors ... BUT... the Ugly Sisters are both being left behind the Tier 1 European Teams because of the financial gulf; this means they are only able to sign 2nd and 3rd rate talent these days.... ... with that in mind, I don't think it would take tooooo much investment to bring a Hearts or Aberdeen up to a standard where they could win the Scottish Premier League. If that resulted in a few sustained European tours then they might be able to consistently compete with Rangers / Celtic levels fairly soon. Ah dunno. Don't get me wrong, I'm not really a fan of the idea of uber-rich profiles (sheiks et al) taking over clubs, but it might be a profitable venture quite quickly for the modest investment speculator.
