  1. I'd keep SOD but Bevis as become erratic when passing with his feet. Possibly due to lack of game time. The need for a commanding centre-half that will tighten things up at set-plays goes without saying. Otherwise looking forward to my first trip to the promised Dens Mega-Bowl (but I've been waiting for many a year).
  2. Seriously: have none of them heard of digging their heel into the turf to stop the ball blowing away?
  3. Don't want to spoil Saturday in advance but... Referee:William Collum AR1 Douglas Ross AR2 Elliott Husband Powton Fourth Official Dan McFarlane VAR Don Robertson
  4. SPFL chief operating officer Calum Beattie confirmed the contingency plan was always for the game to be played next Wednesday, and no other solution was found after discussions with both clubs. "This decision gives this vital fixture the very best chance of being played in front of both sets of supporters and also gives us a week to finalise further contingency planning in the event that the weather unexpectedly deteriorates in the interim." No Monday afternoon behind closed-doors at Airdrie, then? I wonder why.
  5. I hear the Bluenoses were outraged at Dundee's ploy to stop Tavernier scoring.
  6. On the subject of tonight's game at Dumpdee, I wander down memory lane once more to chuckle at the game v. the Bluenoses at Fir Park which was called off about 20 minutes before kick-off. Snow, I think.
  7. I'd like the youth/u-21 fixtures announced in advance. Would go along.
  8. Any other oldies remember this one? Celtic fail to get the point needed to clinch the title. They will now have to wait three days before travelling to Easter Road. Highlights were shown on BBC that night. Review On a cold spring night Celtic start nervously and become more desperate as the game goes on. Lynch is tremendously unfortunate with his two own goals. A rare outing where Celtic lose and fail to score. Celtic missed a barrowload of chances in the first half and then fell behind to an Ian Kennedy goal just before half time. Celtic came out in the second half and fought solidly but failed to find the net. And then in the final five minutes a shot from Kennedy which was going past the post cannoned off Lynch's knee to be deflected past Baines, and two minutes later he also deflected a similar shot from Wark past Baines. Teams Motherwell: Hunter, Watson, Wark, McLaren, McAdam, Stevens, J Miller, Pettigrew, Graham, Davidson, Kennedy. Subs: O'Rourke Marinello Scorers: Kennedy (42), Lynch 2 (OG 85, OG 87) Celtic: Baines, McGrain, Lynch, Stanton, Edvaldsson, Aitken, Conn, Glavin, Craig, Dalglish, Burns . Subs: Doyle Wilson Referee: G B Smith (Edinburgh) Attendance: 13,820
  9. Long away run without winning? Never mind, t's Fir Park on Saturday. We've all seen it. You just know...
  10. (Whisper it) Mathematically we could still get a European place. I'll take my pills and lie down now.
  11. I was disappointed at Halliday running straight to the bench when subbed rather than acknowledging his team-mate on the half-way line. (It wasn't 50 yards, was it?) Then he was first off the bench in the celebrations. Still, hope we aren't tempted to offer him a deal just because he's been freed by the DCHSBs - he has improve dramatically between now and the end of the season.
  12. The post-penalty/goal confusion (as I see it): The penalty was missed but a Dundee player clearly encroached so it should have been retaken but the ref - no doubt after some consultations - played the advantage.
  13. And. Breathe... I'll need to think when I calm down if I have ever, in my decades watching Motherwell, seen anything like that.
  14. Police sniffer dog in operation today hunting for pyrotechnics. Over to you, ladies.
  15. Fairfield Bowling Clubare usually quite accomodating if there are only a couple of you. Short stroll to the ground.
  16. Damn, I would have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for you pesky kid.
  17. There used to be a guy sat along from me he shouted "Defenders, yer aw just lumps o' wid" frequently during the game no matter how well/badly they were doing. He'd would have exploded yesterday. I'm a fan of Mugabe but his passing and clearing has been frightening of late.
