The worst results today, an Ayr loss along with Inverness beating Dunfermline and Queens Park beating Arbroath would mean we would end today
Dunfermline 43
Ayr 42
Inverness 41
Queens Park 40So it wouldn't be that strange, on the last day, we play Dunfermline at Somerset, Inverness would be home to Morton, who in that scenario would already be confirmed as fifth. Queens Park would be playing Airdrie who would already be confirmed as fourth.
It would be an unlucky set of results for us, but certainly not freakish or unrealistic in this league. As I said earlier, I’d be delighted come 5pm we are safe, probably not worth a pitch invasion though
So, we all having a sing-song together at 4mins in for Gerry Collins?

I remember working with him one summer at British Bakeries - was always getting stuff chucked at him to catch

Dear Smokies,
Is been a blast having you in the championship.
From one coast to another, truly one of my favourite away days.
Your 2nd last game comes now with a heavy heart.
But it is not over.
Your Ayrshire coastal cousins are right behind you.
Cheering you on from the urban sprawl of Maryhill this Saturday.
You can do this.
Do it not for us, but for the spirit of the salty air that fills our lungs every other Saturday.
We will meet again (praying not next season so get your finger out and get a win FFS!)
Yours forever
Ayr United

No way Gorgeous Bob Reilly would miss getting his picture taken. He'll have been getting his bouffant teased in preparation.

Buy one of those commemorative coins and you get free admission for life if you show it at the turnstiles.
Flip heads or tales with it at the turnstile and if you win, you get in for free

Anyone bought a north stand season ticket?
Do you think you will have the option to visit the ragamuffins on the terracing on occasion?

Club looking for a bump in pre-season income / new hospitality due to be up and running for start of the season - could this be a war chest being gathered together?

Regardless of who gets played or who gets rested, I hope it’s a decent game, in the sunshine, with a nice big crowd and what will be will be.
As far as other results are concerned, I hope and pray that they pan out with us not needing a win on the last day

Surely you need to rest up some players for the playoffs?
Last year you had momentum and then some and then fucked it at the last leg.
I would be saying the same were it not us you were playing

Callum giving it ‘that could be us next year’ in the post match interview is very strange, especially since we could actually still end up going down?
Fair play to Brown for having none of it, but what a daft thing to say.
It really is nothing personal, but to have Callum and Boab as the voices of Ayr United? Ooooooooft!

There aren’t many teams that buck the trend of money=success.
The more that can be generated on and outwith match day is the key to us progressing.
So the way I see Smith’s tenure so far, is laying foundations for future success.
Of course, I’d love to see it next season, or the season after - who wouldn’t? but we’ve had owners throw money at it before and it didn’t work, and set us back afterwards.
No doubt we will have bumps on the road - let’s face it, it has been a tough watch since McCall left.
Nobody loves transitional periods, they can be tough to endure, but I’m sure it will be worth it in the end - hopefully for all of us and future generations to enjoy.
Staying up this season would be a massive win for me and I would say we would need to have been really unlucky if we need to endure anything like the same next season.

What a fucking player Luke McCowan has become.
Travesty we never got a penny for him
We hardly played him at times. Glad for him he has gone on and done well.

Is it bad to want Raith to win?
I feel dirty

I’m guessing it will go down to the last game of the season - mathematically anyway.
I can’t remember the last time we had a meaningless end of season game - wouldn’t mind one!

So, who all bought a seat in the North Stand?
Felt a bit frustrated about having to just take a punt on a seat. You can only tell so much from a seating plan, but it would've been nice to experience the stand first, have a walk around and get a feel of preference of where to be. You don't really know that until a match day. I understand that it's still classed as a building site so it isn't possible right now, but maybe they should've held off selling them until people could have a wander.
So, yeah, everyone has really had to just take a gamble on where they think would be best, but most of these seats will now be tied up for years, if not decades so little chance of ever switching.
Got one with my uncle today - section 4 back row I think - I’ll give it a go next season and see how it feels - should be safe from the seagulls/blinding low winter sun/sideways hail stones
Was keen as it’s a bit of history, even though I’m a Somerset Road End regular since a nipper, as always likes to be where the noise was - can keep that for the away days.
Also keen to hear what it’s like in there with a good bit of cheering / moaning like f**k

Aye no shit. Just a matter of where it'll land on the Fucking Hell scale when it's released.
It was easier last season coming off of how that panned out. Not sure what the tactic will be for next season. Come buy a ST, we promise not to f**k it up this time..
I'm going for the "Scott Brown Needs You", "Buy Your War Bonds / Season Tickets" style

It all seems one way, like we are paying him to learn new skills, but getting absolutely nothing at all in return.
I had really high hopes when we signed him, but every time he comes on he has not been very good.
