I'm glad I didn't need to get induced, though I came close to having it done. A long walk did the trick.

The night before I felt really uncomfortable and couldn't sleep, the next day I went into labour at 5am,went through to my parents bedroom, and when my Mum heard I was in labour she told me to go back to bed. The cat was more interested in what I was doing than my Mum was.

The woman across the road from me told me this is it true? Do doctors not know what actually starts labour in the human body? But, they obviously know how to induce it?

If they didn't know how it happens they wouldn't have the drugs they give to women to induce labour. Is it not hormones in the woman's body that starts labour?

Yes, which is why they do a 'membrame sweep' first, as this helps to release the hormones that bring on labour. My wife was due to have that done, but thankfully Kirsty arrived a couple of days before the appointment.

Awra best, Mr and Mrs Drifter.

Yeah I had that,it's not very nice. I think they also use a synthetic hormone(In a drip) to start labour to.

I meant to post this a while ago, but is hearing the baby's heart beat the single most amazing thing ever?? it brought me to tears!!

I don't know if you have a child already, but the actual birth was the best thing that's ever happened to me, by an absolute mile. Cried for quite a while. :D

Good luck SD. :thumsup2
