saints1884 Posted February 17, 2009 Share Posted February 17, 2009 I'm glad I didn't need to get induced,though I came close to having it done. A long walk did the trick. The night before I felt really uncomfortable and couldn't sleep,the next day I went into labour at 5am,went through to my parents bedroom,and when my Mum heard I was in labour she told me to go back to bed. But, they obviously know how to induce it? If they didn't know how it happens they wouldn't have the drugs they give to women to induce labour. Yes, which is why they do a 'membrame sweep' first, as this helps to release the hormones that bring on labour. My wife was due to have that done, but thankfully Kirsty arrived a couple of days before the appointment. I don't know if you have a child already, but the actual birth was the best thing that's ever happened to me, by an absolute mile. Cried for quite a while.
