Allardyce has got a good job at Bolton really, not too much expected of him and any top half finish is classed as a good season. This isnt by any means a dig at Bolton by the way!

If I were him I would stay put, too many things expected at City.

JP,

Allardyce didn't turn down Newcastle-He was their 1st choice but Newcastle couldn't afford to pay the 10 year contract that Allardyce is on at Bolton.

To my mind, there are only 2 candidates in line for this job.The obvious one is Stuart Pearce who will be given every chance to make the job his own this season but the only other name in the frame is a current Premiership Manager who has experience of European competition.Awaiting corroberation from people I know with City connections but it will not be a popular choice with the fans if true.

Suffice to say Martin O'Neill is not in the thoughts of the Man City board.
