Bestsinceslicebread
The past few months there has been gossip about the Under 16 Glasgow League folding or keeping active. Rumour today, Sat 16th that the Under 16 league has folded. If true it's a bit sad as we want as many leagues operating and doing well for Scottish football to flourish. Don't know where all the teams will go The teams last year were: (in brackets either 'joined' is fact or 'heard' is rumour) Milngavie Wanderers (joined Cumbernauld & Kilsyth League) ConfirmedBusby (heard joined Cumbernauld & Kilsyth District League)Celtic Bc Pollok United (heard joined Cumbernauld & Kilsyth District League) Knightswood AirdrieFulham (Folded)Rangers SABC (heard applied Cumbernauld & Kilsyth League) Old Firm Alliance (joined Cumbernauld & Kilsyth League) ConfirmedSouthside United East End PhoenixHarmony Row (joined Paisley & Johntone District League) ConfirmedFinnart (heard joined Cumbernauld & Kilsyth District League) Whats your views/knowledge of this regards
paul-r-cfc
As far as I'm aware, all the clubs left have applied for C+K (Knightswood definitely one of them) and it's just a case of how many will be accepted Also, on the rest of the teams,. as far as I know East End folded and Southside also folded but later merged into Finnart I think
Bestsinceslicebread
Had an Incline that Knightswood would come to the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth. The league meeting is tonight, Sunday 17th Aug, where we will find out who has joined who has left.It looks like it will be very interesting meeting indeed. The league committee's heads must be busting just trying to organise the under 16's league never mind any of the other age groups to deal with. Last week meeting confirmed that 'Milton', 'Blantyre Celtic', 'Milngavie Wanderers' and 'Old Firm Alliance' have all joined. The Cumbernauld & Kilsyth 99 league produced the Scottish Cup Winners - Hamilton Accies and the Regional Cup Winners - Kilsyth Athletic, (Kilsyth Athletic have since merged with 3rd placed Cumbernauld Colts). This division was already one of the best, if not the best, in Scotland for that age group. This year it is the Under 16 age group Here is the full listing as I'm aware:p.s. Most of this is all hearsay and it will be confirmed tonight, If I added any wrong details/information then I apologize This is the official full list of teams in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth League:Hamilton AcciesCumbernauld Colts Athletic (Cumbernauld Colts and Kilsyth Athletic merged)Jimmy Johnstone AcademyRossvale BCGlenboig UnitedRossvale InterSeafar Villa BlueCalderbraes WhiteGartcairnCondorratNew StevensonSteins ThistleKirkintilloch Roby RoySeafar Villa WhiteCarbrain ClaretsBlantyre CelticOld Firm AllianceMilngavie WanderersMilton Falkirk WhiteRangers SABCPollok unitedCeltic BCFinnartKnightswood No Longer Involved:Edfc or East Dumbartonshire FC foldedMoorlands Folded (Shocker)Carbrain Sky Joined Forth league We were told last week that because there are so many good teams the league have decided to start with a league cup sectional games and either the top 1 or some groups the top 2 will qualify for the premier league. Yes I can now say, Premier League, lollpersonally I think they should seed teams so no two exceptional teams are in the same League cup Section. For example imagine a section with Milngavie, Hamilton, Rossvale and Milton and only one going through. Each one of teams are quality and strong enough for the premier league and would be a loss.
