Again too many folk going mental over a hypothetical situation.

As Kennie has pointed out NO-ONE has requested any games not to be played.

IF and thats an IF the group is settled tonight then the final group game can be played at a later date. I'm sure this happened in the SPL before when a pre split fixture was actually played after the split was announced. I might be wrong there though.

Hmmm let me see posters "2 Scottish cups 1 town" and let's build a wall behind the goal for better acoustics as we've more sponsors coming in think you should read up before you speak up

Are you the one? Poster why not put a poster up our town did make history. Can I ask you something what junior team do you follow??.

I see on the SJFA website that Ardeer have a player suspended for 1 game, does this mean with this meaningless game against Hurlford not being played and the player would have missed lead to Ardeer being punished for their 1st league game.does not seem right, there again the BIG teams always get their own way.

I would suggest that if its not played then it makes an entire mockery of the Ardagh cup and that it becomes a complete laughing stock.

I wouldn't say that Herth I can recall Talbot playing Largs in a league game with Talbot 3-0 up at half time when the snow came on and the game was abandoned, they left the game till the end of the season and as it had no baring on league positions it was agreed to let the result stand.

I also was at a league game involving Craigmark and Talbot where the ref failed to turn up, again they left the game till the seasons end and as it also didn't effect league positions the result stood at 0-0.

That was back in the old Ayrshire division one, but the same principle stands if it transpires that the Hurlford / Ardeer game means nothing they could let the game stand as a 0-0 draw.

There have been many instances, especially in the '60s early '70s when matches in the league gave been left unplayed. Its fine to just say make it a 0-0 but Ardeer will miss out on a home gate and a game against the current Scottish holders. The association should have been prepared for a scenario like this when there are clubs playing ib the big Scottish with any potential replays taking prederence over every other competition. The Ardagh should either have started earlier or clubs in the Scottish should have played Mon,Wed right from the off to avoid any problems...with the quarters, semis scheduled for midweek, they have to to played before its gets too dark. You cant just live in hope that things will work out,you have to prepare for every eventuality

Anything other than the match is a farce and ardeer should be compensated I.e. Gate receipts etc.... Ardeer shouldn't be punished and the player suspended should be nullified if it doesn't go ahead ardeer should be awarded a 3-0 walkover win

So wait a minute here.

So Hurlford have bought the Scottish as they have no fans and are now Billy bigtimes from a village where no-one watches them but have now to compensate Ardeer because they could possibly lose out on a big gate even though

NO-ONE has requested any matches not to be played.

Think thats the jist of this thread.

Well said and who do hurlford think they are with this billy big time dismissing of the Ardagh cup ?

Not so long ago it would have been a dream for hurlford to have won it when they were taking 15-0 tankings and now its only the diddy Ardagh cup from certain hurlford people.

Any truth at all in that the hurlford committee are walking out on mass anyone? I've heard that ward white will be the latest one to walk and that the hurlford tv bloke will be filming buffs games soon.

Can anyone clarify? Could be nonsense of course but that was apparently the rumours at abbey park on Saturday.
