Nocko
Would any Shotts supporter like to write a wee page about their team for the upcoming Cumnock v Shotts programme. Send me a PM with your email or mobile and I'll be in touch. forrest
It is a double issue, covering the games on the 20th & 27th. Logistics & time to actually do one over the Christmas period are not in Nocko's favour. I believe.........

wishyman
Looking forward to Saturday, hope the weather improves. Beith will be formidable opponents, really looking forward to seeing your forward line operating. Hope our boys can make it difficult and maybe sneak a point. Our last outing against Troon should give the troops a bit of confidence. There's usually plenty goals in the games and I expect no different on Saturday. Mon the weather! The Old Northerner
Is "trotz alledem" still in vogue down Shotts way?
Sandgrownun
Is "trotz alledem" still in vogue down Shotts way? I'm a senior citizen now, so you'll have to remind me where you're coming from with that. Trotz Alledem was a great book by Bernt Engelmann, as I remember. I used to have it but can't locate it on my shelves at the moment unfortunately. It alludes, of course, to Burns's A Man's a Man for a' that. I'm intrigued. Help me out here! Sandgrownun
A contributor to the Haddington v Shotts Scottish Cup programme used the phrase while describing Shotts' Herculean efforts after the Cup win. Sorry, it's gone. Was I the contributor? I would be delighted to hear that someone else was aware of the phrase however. That match at Haddington has an importance outwith the current debate as it was the last Junior Cup match my cousin attended before his death. In the Fifties and Sixties we were both SBA fans totally enthralled by Man Utd after Munich. I later travelled the world having joined the RAF and he went to London to work for the RBS. In our dotage we found ourselves back at Hannah Park but for him it didn't last too long unfortunately. It was a great day at your place - not just because of the result for us but Haddington that day was simply an outstanding venue for the game, a wonderful setting blessed by great weather. Fond memories.
