400million Scottish government underspend

Reynard

Yep. Must really grate you that the SNP can actually bring things in under budget and unlike Labour, won't be sending it back down the Motorway to be spent on London infrastructure.

:lol::lol:

People losing their jobs whilst the incompetents blame London, and they sit on money that could be mitigating the austerity they are allegedly set against.

The SG's task is to spend their budget - not to go over or under (clearly a very minor under is practical). Any idiot could cut things back to make sure you come under budget the real skill is risk managing and continually assessing the position surely?

The party that HB and Reynard vote for are hammering the poor right now and will continue to do so. Give the SNP control of things that can actually make a difference such as social security and minimum wage then we can judge them.

Anyone who votes Torie but spouts pish about helping the poor has a very brass neck indeed.

The SNP you mean? I've never voted for the Conservatives in any election.

You didn't answer my question - "How are the SNP getting on with that class sizes promise they made?"

Why are Learning for Support posts being axed, under the current Scottish government?

You never asked me that question and I couldn't really give 2 shits about class size promises. Is that good enough for you ?

ETA. Clearly I'm talking about Westminster. Which party do you vote for in Westminster ?

Hmm... you told us earlier that you were happy as the government was "working well".

I take it "keeping to our promises to the electorate" isn't a requirement for good governnance?

Why are Learning for Support posts (most beneficial to the poorer performing children) being slashed,due to the SNP's policy decisions? Is this an example of looking after the poor?

The fact that you include zero hour contracts and work experience programs as employment. Shows what a right wing daftie you are.

As long as zero hour contracts are regulated properly they'd be fine. In their current form, they're shite though.

I never said they were working well. I said they work well under a budget which they clearly do.

Do you vote Tory or not ?

Also, why have the number of teachers in Scotland fallen by over 4,000 since the SNP took over in 2007?

Let me guess, you "don't give a shit" about that either, you SNP fanboy?

They "clearly" work well under a budget? In what way is this "clear"?

Do you vote Tory or not ?

I've never voted for the Tories. I have voted for the Tartan Tories though.

I quite clearly have but you pretend otherwise if you like.

It was a Yes or No answer I was expecting.. as it's a Yes or No question.

What's happened here is you've made a hideous intervention into the thread, with hysterical nonsense.

Can we all have a bit more moaning about austerity and then applaud the SG as they hand back nearly half a billion unspent budget to Osborne. :lol:

The clown collective have excelled themselves this time.

Education across the nation, according to TESS :-

"

For the year ahead, several trends are evident around the country:

- management shake-ups: - Shetland is asking primary and secondary depute heads to spend half their week teaching in classrooms;

- the lingering death of national class-size policies is gathering momentum;

- councils are starting to play hardball with staff absenteeism;

- administrative staff, nursery teachers and technicians will become scarcer;

- school meals, breakfast clubs, free fruit and milk are increasingly seen as luxuries;

- payment to outside providers for special needs work is being reined in."

Ah, the good old SNP. What a performance.

Whilst at the same time Nicola is lording it up going on about poverty gaps and the CT freeze and the new free meals for rich (and poor) kids in P1-3.

It's classic SNP. Same as the Council Tax freeze.

Headline policy to get the media attention, whilst sweeping the effects of it, which adversely affects the poor and vulnerable in society, in the cupboard marked "don't care".

Scottish Government under pressure to set up fund.

Scottish Government saves funds.

Funds snatched away by UK Government.

Is this the kind of "Better Together" you lot were blabbering about?

Still peddling that this is a deliberate fund :):) .

If it was, then I don't think any more austerity moaning can be rolled out.

Spend what you get and blame Westminster for any shortcomings- That is the fundamental role/position of the SG - looks like the SNP can manage the second bit though.

I'm not in favour of the CT freeze but free school meals for all ? Of course. You should be too.
