ahemps
Bayern have now taken Sabitzer, Upamecano and Nagelsmann, arguably the best defender, midfielder and manager from their closest challenger last year.
German Jag
H96‘s indifferent ie shite start to the season took an upturn after getting three points at home to St. Pauli. Largest crowd (16.180) so far this season, with a large number in the away ‚end‘. Also a large number of home fans enticed out the woodwork. 1st half was a game of head-tennis, with H96 scoring 5 minutes before 1/2 time. 2nd half was played much more on the deck. St. Pauli just the better side, but unable to score.

German Jag
First away game since March last year, which was also in Nürnberg. Unfortunately not the 3-0 away win as then, but a fairly boring 0-0. Not a VAR fan but glad they spotted the offside for the home team‘s ‚goal‘. Ca. 160 away fans. Not a big surprise, 8:30pm k/o, live on free to air tv, a 600 mile round trip, and as long as it‘s necessary for ID checks / show vaccination pass to buy tickets / enter stadiums, then the Ultras/‚young team‘ will be boycotting. Next up after a trip to the Faroes, a Friday night game home to Schalke. Ticket sales started well, wait and see whether H96 get over the 20 - 30.000 fans for the 1st time this season.

German Jag
Till now this season, H96 have operated a so-called 3G system; Geimpft, Genesen & Getestet (fully vaccinated, recovered from Covid within the last 6 months or tested within the last 24 / 72 hours depending on whether a LFT or PCR test). This allows mask free viewing from your seat, but when moving about masks to be worn together with social-distancing, and the corresponding knock on effect on crowd capacity. They've now received approval from the Lower Saxony state government to operate a 2G system; Geimpft & Genesen allowing full capacity crowds and ditching of masking and distancing. Requirement for this is showing your Covid pass (digital or paper) confirming your status together with your ID-card. Due to the crowds expected, the club and various local organisations set up various points between the main station and the stadium where fans could receive a 'band' after proving their 2G status, in order to help reduce the queues at the stadium. For those with a pre-checked band there were seperate entry lines for getting in. As regards fan numbers, 39,500 turned up. A number boosted by a large, ca. 7,000, away contingent. As regards the game, H96 were never at the races, being completely overrun. A simple look at the shots stats (1 for H96 / 22 for S04) gives you an idea. Ron-Robert Zieler had an excellent evening pulling off numerous top-level saves. He unfortunately had to be subbed off with 10 minutes to go. All was looking well for H96 to shitfest a point, until Schalke got the deserved 3 points in the 95th minute. Result leaves H96 hovering above the relegation spots, and getting more and more detached from the top-end of the table.
Stellaboz
Took a wee gander along to Viktoria Koln yesterday. Good afternoon out. 2 boys behind me turned out to be Gladbach fans who enjoy coming over for German games.

BMG Spider
Gladbach 5 (yes, five) Bayern 0 in the Pokal. Gladbach continue to be the nearest thing to a bogey team for Bayern in Germany. Fantastic
Steven W
Caught the goals from last night's Hoffenheim v Hertha on Sky Sports News there. Is social distancing still a thing in Germany? Or is it just their ground is too big for them. Got right into Friday night Bundesliga action on BT last season. Would I be right in thinking that despite Sky having it now, they aren't showing the Friday night matches?

Look to have the Friday night game now too as one is listed on Sky for Friday upcoming.
German Jag
Ca. 700 H96 fans in Düsseldorf on Saturday. Difficult to believe that H96 had defeated the home team 3-0 in the DFB Pokal just 10 days previously. The meh season looked to be continuing, After going 1-0 down in the 6th minute, until Florent Musilja caused ‚scenes‘ in the away end with a peach of a goal in the 92nd minute to ensure a share of the points. Next up Chisinau, thereafter Paderborn at home.

Was at Borussia Park a few weeks ago but unfortunately this was only for lunch and to pick up the new shirt for my son as I was working across the border in Roermond. Hoping to get back out for a game in January. -

German Jag
H96's run of sh!te results in the league continued with a 4-0 gubbing down in Karlsruhe (just glad I didn't travel). Result leaves them in the play-off spot. Serious lack of form saw them today depart company with trainer Jan Zimmermann. Names mentioned in the local press as potential successors include ex Hamburg trainer Daniel Thioune, ex Rapid Vienna trainer Dietmar Kühbauer and (hopefully jokingly) Markus Anfang latterly punted by Werder Bremen. Tough start for whoever comes in or takes on an interim role as the next game is at home on Sunday to SV Hamburg. Stadium capacities in Lower Saxony now been cut to max. 50%.

accies1874
That's a delightful finish from Haaland. The kind of one where you're just desperate for it to bend in.
