LongTimeLurker
Shows the EoS deserves the qualifier slot and will help silence anybody at the SFA, who wants to try to make the cup for licensed clubs only.
paleface
huge well done and a decent tie next as well would have to say lthv favourites to progress there as well
theref
huge well done and a decent tie next as well would have to say lthv favourites to progress there as well Fantastic result for Lothian and agreed favourites for next round as Huntly are struggling at the bottom of their league Perhaps with the added publicity Lothian / Edinburgh council etc might actually get saughton or another venue to escape the Eos now

tynie1874
This, it has to be a catalyst for something better off the pitch. They have been trying for years the original plans where quite good as well would have looked smart and allowed them to take that next step to compete facilities wise with Spartans. You look at the players they've produced over the years there's been a starting 11 of Scotland internationals.

Unless it happens quickly end of this season players whom want to play at a higher level than EOS which is sadly in major decline will move on like last season when 5 left

lowenan
Great win. What is the chance of Leith and Lothian Thistle gaining entry level in the next two - three years?
calmac25
Great win. What is the chance of Leith and Lothian Thistle gaining entry level in the next two - three years? Lothian Thistle moved to saughton and then merged with Hutchie Vale in an attempt to get SFa membership and licenced. Tynecastle fc moved in at saughton during the summer having been frustrated with attempts to develop fernieside and state their commitment to improving facilities at saughton also. LTHV will have made some money out of the Scottish cup this year but will largely be waiting for the council to go through with plans to stick a 3g pitch in the enclosure . Given that lthv were asking for assistance for a cherry picker to fix the floodlights I'd imagine that the council aren't much help at present. Leith athletic are similarly in the hands of the council. I've seen interviews in the evening news where they have expressed a long term plan to be licenced. This will at best be tied to the redevelopment of meadowbank due to be completed in spring 2018. Whether Leith will be able to share the main (3g) pitch with Edinburgh city or try to develop the 2nd 3g pitch outdoors up to licencing standards will give a clearer picture of how quickly they might be licenced. Heriot watt may be able to get their licence once the oriam performance centre is complete next summer.
lowlandleaguer
Why don't some of these Edinburgh teams try standing on their own feet instead of waitin for cooncil handoots
calmac25
Why don't some of these Edinburgh teams try standing on their own feet instead of waitin for cooncil handoots It's not just the council! 11 non league sides in Edinburgh. 8 play on council pitches. 2 university facilities And civil service is a local college/government facility Is it the same for most clubs at this level? LTHV have been waiting for 2 years on that ! lthv ,leith , tynecastle 3 of the largest clubs there is and not 1 of them has facilities that gain entry to the lowland league an utter disgrace stop wasting all the money on senior sign on fees and it might help or step up and advise why you have no facilities ? what is the plans ? who is stopping them ? is it just lack of money ? some teams in the lowland league like preston /threave for example are rubbish but as thet have the facilities are in and there is no relegation as nobody has the facilities to get in / as the few who do Like civil are pony on the pitch amd cant win the league ( eos ) so back to square

rigano
who mentioned spartans ? I did. I'm asking how they got money for their facilities when hutchie, Leith and tynecastle haven't got the funds but they are similar sized clubs.
