Bankie
Back on to the topic of the game. Took this one in today as the Bankies game was off. A decent crowd was under the shed at Glenhead Park today for this one. Drum could have taken the lead in the first couple of minutes a when the number 9 shot narrowly wide but Colville started to come into it as the half wore on, and probably shaded the first half but went in goal-less at half time. Colville then stepped up a gear after the restart and took the lead from a dubious free kick (IMO) but no arguments with the finish from the wee 11 . They then doubled their lead with a fine move down the left resulting in a near post header making it two, and added a third with a similar move later in the half. They even had the luxury of a missed penalty which could have (and should have, again IMO ) been a red card for the defender for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity, but the wee 11 found it easier to score from 25 yards instead of 12. Drum pulled one back with just under 5 to play when the number 8 finished well, and Drum nearly scored another after a quick corner kick fooled everyone but the keeper managed to scramble it clear. Drum then had a big penalty shout in added on time that wasn't given, and the frustrations boiled over with Charlie Devlin being sent inside, and the Drum 6 receiving a straight red, presumably for something he said. A decent game given the conditions. Good luck to Colville and commiserations to the Drum.

Mitre Mouldmaster
I also took in the drum v colville game yesterday and lovely touch before the game started with the two clubs observing a minute silence for the tragic death of young paige . The glenhead park looked well despite a lot of rain falling but soon began to get cut up as the game progressed. Two honest teams battling out a right good cup tie with prob CP shading the first half going by attempts at goals . 2nd half the motherwell outfit stepped up a gear or two and scored 3 very well taken goals and missed a pen so game over i thought but credit to drum who fought back scored a goal and had the colville defence on the back foot for the last 5 mins . Drum had a lad sent off in last minute what could only be for decent and ref blew for full time. A thoroughly good entertaining game despite the conditions. Both teams a credit to the league . Drumchapel ams 1 Colville Park
