Antlion
Anyone seen this? I've been binge watching it online - it's all about the European ruling dynasties and how they started to collapse, with the resulting tensions fomenting the outbreak of the First World War. It has an exemplary cast of British favourites (Patrick Stewart plays Lenin) and still looks sumptuous (no rickety sets - it's all film-quality stuff). I'm halfway through, and would recommend it for history buffs. I've learnt a lot of stuff I didn't know (and whenever I've fact-checked the seemingly odd stuff, it's been entirely accurate. There's a whole episode about a crown prince killing himself and his lover, and the resultant rush to cover it up, including the girl's uncle's propping up her corpse between them in a carriage and riding it through Hungary so that people would think she was alive - all true!) Mordecai
Sounds like my sort of thing. What channel/service is it on?
Antlion
Sounds like my sort of thing. What channel/service is it on? I found it via a streaming site. It's on DVD, though, and I reckon I'll buy it (about £14 for the full series), because every episode I've seen has been pure gold.
