The previous floodlights, along with the goalposts, were acquired from Third Lanark, back in the 60's. Previous to this, I'd have to look the information up, but Dead will be able to tell us when he's back from holiday.

craigiemack
It's compulsary for all Lowland League diddy clubs to play music over their highlights, just ask Spartans

What kind of crowds to east Stirling get now compared to last season out of interest? Our crowds have definitely decreased since last season. Can't really find any actual figures for this season, but its around 150, compared to 300-350 average last season.

Mainly down to the fact that the away support is non-existant most weeks.

It must be down to more than that? Your average was 320 last season... 296 without Stirling Albion games which were 500+... so lets say 300, and were 150 of those away fans? That is several times what Berwick would take to away games, and several times what we'd expect people to bring down to Shielfield, although I appreciate Ochilview is more central. Thanks for the previous contributions over the floodlights. I see someone claiming they were acquired from Third Lanark in the 1960s - this could be correct, but Albion Rovers make the same claim (and their lights were opened in 1968), and it's also claimed Shire's were taken from Firs to Kilbowie during the ES Clydebank fiasco which was in 1964 and several years before Third Lanark folded. Maybe they had an unusually travelled life. Edited September 11, 2016 by HibeeJibee
