ekfootball
They can't play both amateur and under 19/21 football.
Gunner
I'm sure the rule changed this season to allow (maybe a max of 2) under 21's to play amateur football. I would assume that they couldn't play both 21's and amateur on the same day though. So one week a player could play 21's then next week amateur. I expect. Someone will be able to further clarify though...
bigbuff
No go im afraid 2 different class distinctions, Youth and Recreational Amateur, The juniors can sign on a dual contract this is an agreement between the SJFA and the SYFA
ayrshireTD
I heard that the SAFA are in talks to put in place the same dual contracts that the juniors have in place but it won't be in place until season 2017/18. In my opinion this would maybe save a lot of amateur teams and stop having so many unfulfilled fixtures.
The Goalie123
I think the Someone can now play 21s play and Sunday amateur. Next year players should be able to play amateur including Saturday's and boys clubs, it was hoped it would be through this season however the wording of the new rule wasn't right so it didn't go through. I think this is a no brainer -advantages teams who have boys teams plus amateurs can use players at both level so it's a pathway. It will introduce more players at amateurs. It will prepare players good enough to make step up to juniors. Teams are struggling for numbers and there is drop off after boys club so I hope this rule goes through. Gartcairn amateurs
I think it's a crazy rule that you can't, a junior team can play an academy player but an amateur team can't, defies belief.
