Herman Hessian Posted February 1, 2018 Share Posted February 1, 2018 courtesy (in part) of the usual inane wittering on Radio 6 Music: kenneth wolstenhome, iconic football commentator of world cup final "some people are on the pitch..." fame was a highly decorated WW2 bomber pilot, getting the DFC and bar for over 100 missions over occupied europe and ending the war as a squadron leader ! not too sure how that stacks up alongside the likes of dion dublin and the (possibly apocryphal) story about him being prodigiously empizzled, and exposed as thus during an interrupted session of caravan-based carnality, but thought you might like to know, regardless - don't let the thread title be too prescriptive if you have more gems to share...
