SweeperDee Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Ooooft. Their best album to date; I'd also say it's a strong contender for album of the year. Fucking amazing, love the fact that shoegaze/dream-pop is making a strong comeback. "Drunk in LA" is my personal highlight.
L. Brilliant Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 I'm going to give it a try but only really liked Devotion before - albeit REALLY liked
Savage Henry Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Posters on another forum I use are raving about it. Beach House went way off the boil for me in their last album, but this one is getting glowing reviews across the board. Colour me intrigued.
SweeperDee Posted May 13, 2018 Author Posted May 13, 2018 That transition from “Dark Spring” into “Pay No Mind” is one of the best I’ve heard in years. I think this album is much darker, more emotive than their past albums. It works so well, the production is the best it’s been for sure, and the more prominent drumming adds to the overall quality of the album.
Yoss Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I like it a lot on first couple of listenings. I liked the last one as well, mind you. Pity they're not coming to Scotland on their tour later in the year. Might have to make a trip down south.
50/50 Winner Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I really like it, there's something about Beach House's music that just draws you in. I'm going to their Manchester gig in October.
