BL2
Given the number of club officials in this section of the forum, and given all clubs are on the same boat with trying desperately to get money in year round, I think it would be a good idea to have a thread with all things fundraising. You can include; - Ideas - Promotional Posts - Good news stories - Lessons learned (providing its not "[insert name] is a horrible speaker dont book him" etc)

BANKIEBILL
We do a "Sponsor a Goal". In reality it's sponsor anything ... Cup win, clean sheet, injury time winner etc etc. It's generated a substantial sum over last few years and because it's results based you don't mind parting with the cash. For example a few of us parted with £25 for winning Sectional and £50 for avoiding relegation as well as goals and clean sheets in my case. Tutankhamen
Many many moons ago a certain Junior club raffled two England v Scotland tickets. For the under 60s on here (the whole five of you) Wembley was a massive mega fixture back in the day. Up there with a present day Champions League final. Vaguely remember the second prize being a colour television. It's reckoned the club sold a couple of thousand tickets. Anyway the old man wins the Wembley tickets. Now most people buying raffle tickets probably never give it a second thought but this Junior club got a couple of newspapers to print the winners names. Which meant thousands knew 1, there been a raffle and 2, who won it. So far so good. Needless to say after enquiries were made the line came out about the tickets not appearing until a few days before the game. Finally on the Friday afternoon before the game a certain committee man arrived to say the tickets hadnt appeared. And that was that. So anyway the midnight flight (remember that) was booked so Glasgow Airport here we come. And in passing waiting in the queue at check in at the long gone St Enoch Square terminal was two chaps in front who patter away and declare blah blah blah we're committee men in a certain Junior club. Talk about embarrassment, turns out the chap who turned up at my old man's house had done the raffle in along with the bus and hotel money for the Wembley trip!!! And the CID were hunting him. Turns out the two committee men had spent a couple of hours in a Police Station handing over the details of the absconded treasurer. Tbf, the guy owned up and took his punishment. Scotland lost 3-1 Wanna buy a raffle ticket?

Mate does the bonus ball for the club also & that’s just 2 Blasties fans contributions . Our quiz night at the end of the month is just the start of fund raising activities the club will have this season
