The goals came from Brian Watson, doubles by Benny McGuire and Joe McMeechan and one from Tony McCandless. Saw Brian Watson the other day in the High Street. He was a very quick player in his day and can still walk fast as witnessed.

Remember most of them
Jambo'ness
The 28th of January, 1989 saw a League visit to Bonnyrigg Rose and the BU's returned with a point in a 1-1 draw. The team was : Kirkwood, Dunleavie (Grant), Fisher, G McLennan, McLean, Ewing, Shields, Dalton, Cowan, Hamilton, McLaughlan. Steve Cowan netted for the BU's. A wee teaser from recent times. Who scored a hat-trick on this day against Lochore Welfare in 2006?

There have been bigger events than that in our history. Some still remembered, some long forgotten.

Jambo'ness
For the 29th, I'll take you back to 1955 and a home League match against a side no longer with us. Alva Albion Rangers took a few heavy beatings against the BU's and in a season where we won the League and they finished 2nd bottom, the 10-0 score-line wasn't a great shock. The team was: Ronald, Mitchell, Blackwood, Hogg, Boyd, McBlain, Scott, McMahon, Harrower, Hunter, McKeown and the goals came from 4 doubles from McKeown, McMahon, Harrower and Scott. One from Hunter and an own-goal.
Jambo'ness
In 2011, Kelty were the visitors but were beaten 3-1. The third was an Andy Shirra penalty but who can remember who earned it?

Now if it was a similar question asked on that day in the history of the Rose then nae problem. TOMMY COYNE.
Auld Heid
When are the real highlights coming? Such as: Linlithgow winning the league at Newton Park from 2-0 down with 3 goals in the last 5 minutes..!! Scottish Cup Semi at Almondvale - losing 2-0 to the Rose Getting kicked out the Scottish The numerous defeats in local cups to Linlithgow
Specky
Oh don't worry, there'll be special celebratory days when then actually did ever manage to beat us in a meaningful game.... What about when the rose had two players sent off (carr ots and Logan the goalie if I recall) in a Scottish tie down at Newton and still managed to win! -

How about one of your fans getting off their behinds to research your club's history. I don't see why I should be giving you any crumbs of comfort.

8MileBU
No, someone more obscure than that.Stevie Ballantyne? Would’ve been the season we beat Queens Park but lost to Buckie in the big Scottish. Trying to think who all played back then. When are the real highlights coming?
