JamieStevenson
Welcome back to the WWE PPV Prediction League. After the success of the last couple of years, I think it's time we try another year. westcoastfifer is going into 2019 as our defending champion. For anyone that doesn't know, we'll be following the league format where every score will count towards your end total. We did predictions for 15 events in 2018. I imagine it'll be roughly the same this year, hopefully the schedule isn't too demanding so that we can all keep up with it. There can only be one champion once we've reached the end of the year after the final PPV. Looking for a full calendar year worth of commitment from you all once again. This would only include popping into the thread to place your predictions just before a PPV. You are competing against your fellow wrestling fanatics and if you stick it out to the end and become the champion, not only will you have the bragging rights as the top boy/girl in The Wrestling Forum.... You will also get to choose a charity for myself to donate £20 to and the first pick of a number for the 2020 Royal Rumble Pool, assuming Lyle Lanley will still be around to run it! Our previous winners are: 2018 - westcoastfifer 2017 - SamuraiJock Rules / Need To Knows Posting predictions does not require a PM, must be posted in the thread as this is how it's always been. Predictions must be in by Noon on Saturday (unless stated otherwise). PM's will be sent out to participants as reminders to post predictions in time. Late entries will receive a point deduction for that PPV. -2 for normal predictions. -1 for a solo NXT Takeover show. Each PPV's match listing (+ any bonus questions) will be posted by myself on the Wednesday morning before a PPV. Leaderboard SHOULD be updated the day after each PPV. Each correct answer will be worth 1 point. If a prediction requires more than 1 selection, it will be 1 point per correct selection. If a match on the predictions list that was never made official by WWE and was speculation by myself, ends up not happening, that match will now be void. Any matches announced after the match listing has been posted in the thread will not be included in the predictions. TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs Aleister Black vs Buddy Murphy. Match result - Aleister Black Rusev vs Bobby Lashley in a Tables match. Match result - Bobby Lashley The New Day (C) vs The Revival in a Ladder match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship. Match result - The New Day Bray Wyatt vs The Miz. Match result - Bray Wyatt The Kabuki Warriors (C) vs Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. Match result - The Kabuki Warriors Roman Reigns vs King Corbin in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. Match result - King Corbin There are potentially 6 points up for grabs here. Predictions to be in by 11PM on Sunday December 15th. Any late entries will receive a -2 start for the PPV. Good luck everyone! Leaderboard 1. JamieStevenson
Welcome back everyone I'd like to go over a few things and get some input from you guys as well. This year the double points boost will not be back. It was an interesting experiment for 2018 but probably didn't land as well as I thought it would and if used badly basically put you out of the running right away. So you'll be glad to know we're back to just straight predictions with the occasional bonus questions thrown in as well. For now things will remain the same in terms of sending out the match listings and predictions to be in by Noon on Saturday. I'm aware that SmackDown Live is moving to Friday nights in the latter part of 2019. That's something that'll need to be addressed nearer the time as I'm not sure how that'll impact us yet. If they start announcing matches on go-home shows we may unfortunately have to revert back to predictions being in by the Kickoff Show. Which I understand is frustrating as by then a fair amount of people will have seen spoilers or odds for the matches. Are we still happy with playing for charity? Or should we perhaps open it up to stuff like £20 Amazon gift vouchers or whatever sort of vouchers you want as well? I know we also did a poll back in 2017 enquiring about the inclusion of NXT Takeover shows in predictions which had the majority not wanting it to be included. Is it time to add them in? I know there are a few that don't really watch NXT or perhaps don't want it included as we're already doing a lot of predictions as it is.
SamuraiJock
Glad the points boost is gone. I totally cocked that up last year. Would prefer to lose my money to charity than Amazon I'd happily predict the NXT takeover shows as well - and anyone not watching NXT takeovers is doing something wrong
Ira Gaines
Takeovers are a good idea since they are on PPV weekends. Predicting a few more matches on the usual prediction weekend doesn't seem like a big problem.

JamieStevenson
As it stands looks like we're still playing for charity only which is great and we'll be including Takeovers. Absolutely not doing UK Takeovers though. Still time to vote on the polls if you haven't already.

JamieStevenson
I'm not expecting any other matches to be announced but if something happens on SmackDown I'll just edit it in. As for the Surprise / unannounced entrants these obviously have to be someone not on the confirmed listings (which can be found in the RR thread or on RR wiki etc). There's a slight chance they might announce a few more names in the lead up to the Rumble so it might be worth holding off on those picks until a little later. Basically if your pick isn't officially announced to be in the Rumble by Saturday Noon then you're in the clear.

Christophe
@JamieStevenson as i've predicted a tied finish in the women's rumble, can you confirm no-one who predicts Charlotte or Becky would also get a point in that scenario? Otherwise i'm as well just picking one or the other
