Peasyman
Just had a request from the Maryhill Burgh Halls about the Erskine Hospital Charity Cup which they have in their possession. They are looking for information about it's origin etc. I know it was played for by various junior sides up until the 90's. I know their has been a forum on this a few years ago but any new information would be helpful.
Rankbad1n
Pretty sure Pollok won this in circa 1960 played at Yoker , Tommy Dryden possibly was Manager, they played 2 finals on same day at the end of a season. Maybe Pollok,s jamie Wire can confirm.
Nugent4nil
Winners.... 1950 Shawfield 1951 St Anthony's 1952 St Anthony's 1953 Benburb 1954 Pollok 1955 Arthurlie 1956 Renfrew 1957 Benburb 1958 Pollok 1959 Shared Johnstone Burgh / Yoker 1960 Greenock 1961 Renfrew 1962 Benburb 1963 Renfrew 1964 Johnstone Burgh 1965 Benburb 1966 Johnstone Burgh 1967 Benburb 1968 Johnstone Burgh 1969 Rutherglen Glencairn 1970 Vale of Leven 1971 Port Glasgow 1972 Pollok 1973 Pollok 1974 Johnstone Burgh 1975 Renfrew 1976 Arthurlie 1977 St Anthony's 1978 Arthurlie 1979 Benburb 1980 Vale of Clyde 1981 Port Glasgow 1982 St Roch's 1983 Arthurlie 1984 Shettleston 1985 Shettleston 1986 Shettleston 1987 Benburb 1988 Port Glasgow 1989 Arthurlie Missing the next couple but I understand Neilston were the last winners in 93 possibly? The cup itself was used previously fo ranother competition as it has a date of 1905 on it and I 'think' Benburb are mentioned.

Brig O'Lea
The winners of the Erskine Cup would play the winners of the Maryhill Charity Cup for the McGregor Cup. After winning the 1991 Erskine Cup, we won the 1991 McGregor Cup beating Maryhill 4-3 at Tinto Park. Here we were after the 1991 and 1994 win, the last one. Still no answer how it ended up at Maryhill.

tinto
I think it was the David Elder Hospital Cup first. The Erskine Cup was played at the end of the season I seen Benburb win 2 nil against Clydebank in 1962 at Tinto Park in a final. Jim McDonald scored both goals. In the pre penalty shootout days the games were decided on corners if the teams were level.
Tony
My father in law Duncan Carmichael played, for Pollok FC,in both the Erskine Hospital and Glasgow Charity Cup Finals in 1958. He scored in both games. I was wondering if there were any photos taken on the day. Any help would be appreciated. Tony
