oneteaminglasgow
August 2077 Absolute fucking shite. Literally the only positive was getting through to a cup final. That was somewhat overshadowed by being 4-0 down in the two 4-2's, and taking an absolute tanking from Cork City. They had two other goals disallowed in that game. As far as I can recall, it's the worst showing any of my sides have put in through the save, but there might have been something I've forgotten about. We still have a 14 point gap to the playoff spot, which is lovely. There's only 18 points left to play for so we should be fine.
oneteaminglasgow
League of Ireland Cup Final - 2077 Well, we go into the cup final on horrendous form - we haven't beaten a team from the same level as us in a month and a half. We're up against Derry City, our local(ish) rivals who we beat in our opening game of the season, but have thumped us three times since then. Anyway, Finn Harps don't have a single major honour in over 100 years at this point (their only major honour) so it'd be nice to win, but I'm not expecting much. Spoiler Utterly gutless shite. One shot all match, none on target, despite them having ten men for the final 20 minutes. Legitimately fucking seething with this squad of charlatans. Will be having a clear out at season's end.
oneteaminglasgow
September 2077 Couple of wins at long last over some of the utter dross at the bottom of the division, but lost against the vaguely competent sides we had to face. Pretty much where we are just now. Still pissed off at the cup final, to be honest. We're staying up, which is nice. Argentina A simple win over Uruguay, and then we lost a last minute goal against Colombia which is a shame, but I've already qualified so I'm not really that bothered. Two more qualifiers, and we'll probably top the table.
oneteaminglasgow
Had a look, and apparently I'm ninth on the Hall of fame of Scottish managers. Cameron Hutchinson is a regen who managed Rangers to 12 titles in 13 seasons, and that is the Lee Miller who did an atrocious job at Falkirk - he was Celtic manager in this save.
oneteaminglasgow
October 2077 A really decent end to the season, actually. The Shamrock game we had the best goalkeeping performance I've seen in FM, saving two penalties and a host of other chances. There was no danger of us winning the game, but a good draw. Great result against Shelbourne and we did fine against champions Dundalk. Pleased with that. Midtable mediocrity. Basically as much as I hoped for - our incredible start obviously fizzled out and we were quite poor for large periods, but all ended up fine. Wonderful stuff. I love a team of thugs. And this is also very welcome news. Every other side bar Longford were already full time, so this just gets us on par with them, but it can only be helpful. Argentina Two pretty straightforward wins to round out our qualifying campaign. Got a couple of friendlies next month, but we have no serious business until next summer's world cup. We topped the qualifying group, and only dropped points against Colombia under my management. No bad.

oneteaminglasgow
November 2077 Mini tour of North Africa, and it was a success with two resounding victories. Threw a couple of fringe players and younger guys into the squad, and they mostly did well so that's ideal.
oneteaminglasgow
That's our world cup group been drawn. I hope we absolutely fucking batter Wales. There's a couple of the groups which are an absolute state... Terrible. Also, reigning champions Romania managed to fail to qualify after a 3-1 home loss against Lithuania - good effort lads.
oneteaminglasgow
Transfers 2078 Some deadwood out the squad - I was trying to get rid of quite a few others but no takers so they can sit in the reserve squad this season. First up, I made both Adam Corcoran and Ronan O'Shea's loans permanent. Corcoran will be an important player in my side, while O'Shea is a squad option and nothing more, but should still be ok to get a few goals when needed. Spoiler Rory Friel is my new goalkeeper. I still have a young guy with potential who I'm hoping will make the breakthrough and be good enough to be my undisputed number one, but he's not there yet and in the meantime Friel is an improvement on anything else I have. Spoiler Dragoljub Pejovic is a striker/attacking midfielder who joins from some Serbian mob. He's good on the ball, good movement and fairly quick, so that's all positive. Looks to lack a bit of end product, but hopefully that'll come as he's still fairly young. Spoiler Cameron Coleman is my main striker this season. He has absolutely everything needed to be a really good striker at this level, so I'm very pleased to get him - particularly for free. Spoiler Brendan Lynch is a pretty solid centre half, and that's all I can really say. Nothing special, but I don't think he'll cost us many goals either and will do the basics well. Spoiler Shane Desmond is a central midfielder, and he's a good ball winner. Plenty of room for improvement, but he's still young and he gives me something different as basically all my other centre midfielders are very similar. Spoiler I got very close to the start of the season before I realised I didn't have a proper right winger, so here's David Tierney. Another young guy, he's quick and has good technique, but some work to do on the rest of his game. Still, he'll get better and he gives me an option. Spoiler So that's that. I have a fucking massive squad, with a lot of guys who aren't up to it, but at least this season I can change things when they aren't working - last season I more or less had to play the same guys every week regardless of anything because we had f**k all else.
oneteaminglasgow
February 2078 A good start. We were a bit unfortunate not to get a draw at Waterford, but it wasn't a total injustice to lose it. Good wins in the other two games, and especially good to see a few of the new boys manage to get goals early doors. Too early to tell much, but this is good so far.
oneteaminglasgow
What the f**k does that even mean? oneteaminglasgow
March 2078 Another good month, including a decent result against the (then) top side in the league. We're nowhere near the level of Shamrock Rovers, who seem to be running away with the title this season, but were much better than the three sides we beat, so we should be nowhere near the bottom of the table. Wonderful. It'll never last, but that's as good as I could have hoped for after playing almost everyone in the division once. Argentina Despite the above post, we had a friendly this month and won quite comfortably against a relatively decent Haiti side. Nothing now till the World Cup warm up games...
oneteaminglasgow
April 2078 A lot of games, and I think it'd be fair to say that was quite a poor month overall, with a couple of decent enough moments. Reached a cup quarter final, which is good, although we haven't actually played anyone who were any good yet. The St Pat's win was also great, with us playing most of the game with ten men and grabbing a last minute winner. Rest of it though - really poor. Granted, the majority of the games we've had were against the better sides in the league, but it's still not really good enough. Dropped all the way down to sixth, but with a healthy enough lead over seventh. Hopefully pick up a few more points next month when we're playing the dross.

oneteaminglasgow
May 2078 Corcoran being a fucking idiot saw us go out of the cup, but the rest of the month was really good stuff, and late goals all over the shop too. Delightful. Gets us right back on track. A shot at the title is well beyond us, but I'd like to think we'll be top half.
oneteaminglasgow
The 2078 World Cup For the second time in the save, I'm taking a side to the World Cup after my Germany side triumphed 12 years ago. Brazil in 2002 were the last non-European side to win a world cup, and we haven't even had a non-European finalist since 2042 - which was also Brazil. We are the top ranked side in the world, but with having not made it even to the semi finals since 2062, history is against us. World Cup is being held in France. As I highlighted before, our group is as follows: We should be able to beat both of those sides very, very comfortably. As usual, it was recommended that I play sides from near enough them to warm up, so our friendly results are as follows. Mali are 38th in the rankings, Ireland are 49th and Guinea-Bissau are 11th so a good set of results, especially pumping Mali rotten. That's my squad as well. Most notable players are World Player of the Year winner Gonzalo Conedera, and almost guaranteed future winner Fernando Fernandez. Cellamare is also always good for a goal. For some Scottish interest, winger Alejandro Fleitas plays for Celtic. Anyway, onto the group stage we go... Spoiler The scoreline makes it look like a tight game, but that will probably be one of the most one sided matches at the entire tournament. I mean, we probably should have scored six goals there at least. An absolute pumping. Still, the win is all that matters. Spoiler We sit out the second round of games, but that Wales win means we're heading through. Wonderful. Spoiler Get it right up you, wee England. Las Malvinas son Argentinas. Pretty dominant throughout, they gave us a wee scare after we went two up and had some pressure, but we absolutely deserved to win the game. Ghana it is, then. 32nd in the world, and the African nations I've played recently really haven't been up to much. We should be winning this game. Spoiler Comprehensive is the fairest description of that game I can think of. It was over as a contest after 15 minutes and we absolutely coasted through the rest of it, including a missed penalty. A much tougher tie awaits us. The full second round went as follows: Spoiler Wonderful. Our 91st minute goal came after theirs too, lovely stuff. That is a gutter though. Typical Brazilian hammerthrowers. Belgium up next. Another tough tie. Shootouts all over the shop. Ireland with some fucking effort there to be fair to them. Spoiler A very strange game - every single time we went up the park, we scored. Just one of those games I suppose, and fucking wonderful that we managed to get it in a World Cup quarter final. Ireland in a fucking world cup semi final. Mental. Spoiler We simply couldn't have asked for an easier semi final. f**k knows how they made it this far, because they were really pish. Italy it is then. That's very weird, given that we're ranked first in the world. I'd have thought that's exactly the kind of side you'd expect to make the world cup final, but whatever. Spoiler Just for completeness, Mexico came third. Spoiler Thoroughly deserved based on the game. They took the lead with a set piece that was their first real attack of the game, and we were struggling a bit after that. Then we managed a goal with a long diagonal into the box which Conedera, thrown on despite being injured, got on the end of. After that, Italy imploded and our second goal was inevitable. The red card was for a dreadful tackle and it was job done. That's me a two time World Cup winner. Scenes. Best I can find, either in game or reality, is Scolari winning it with Brazil and then coming fourth with Portugal. It also appears that Callum Davidson managed the Netherlands to win the 2040 European Championship, then took France to third place at the 2046 World Cup.
