I saw Jackson with my wife, MiL and MiL's best pal in Portland a couple of years ago. Hadn't really heard much of him but now an evangelist.

Anyway my latest nomination is pretty much anything from the new Los Campesinos album. Breathtaking bit of work, every full length song is superb and undoubtedly the best British indie album in years. If I could be bothered to write a full review I'd put it in the albums of the year thread. While I'm doing cross thread posting excited to see them at the QMU next month

Bought ‘Hold On Now Youngster’ second hand from Missing off the back of I knew they’d toured with Jeffrey Lewis and totally lost track of them since. New one’s a bit different! Doesn’t seem to have a US release so ordered from Monorail and also found out the SOPHIE album has come to fruition so have preordered that too. Thanks mate!

On that note, I’m linking to a live video because a pic of an album sleeve on a screen doesn’t do it for some folks but I’ve always pictured Jeff’s ‘Life’ as Lou Reed singing a song to some Sesame Street characters and when you do that I think it’s kinda perfect in that setting

I went through all of their stuff recently which coincidentally aligned with the release of their new album. Getting introduced to them as a 13-year-old can account for at least some of my issues. Sadly it didn't coincide with there still being tickets available for their Glasgow gig.
