No, Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory along with the Falklands Islands, some military bases in Cyprus and a bunch of random Caribbean/Indian ocean islands. Effectively they're completely self-governing but our armed forces are responsible for defending them and the Queen is their head of state. There are also Crown Dependencies (Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man) which have similar status but are part of the British Isles and thus not overseas. Again, they're self-governing so no need to send MPs to Westminster.

 

Gibraltar got to vote in the EU referendum as the only British Overseas Territory that's part of the EU (none of the Crown Dependencies are either)

But Dumbo99 says that the UK voted together as a whole. How can this be if the Gibraltarians voted?

Surely we must respect his massive political intellect?
