Ric
Two things here... one he has been told by agents/close family/just about anyone who advises him, that a move down South would be folly at his age. And in a way I can understand that. That leaves Newcastle, Man U and Liverpool in the running. Newcastle have just bough Milner and it looks like Beattie will be on his way, and with several other strikers at the club (Lua Lua, et al) there is no need for them to splash the cash. Liverpool have the cash, but that would be suicide to move accross the city (that said, on a side note, it's 15 years to the week that MoJo moved from green to blue). That leaves us with Man U. The other being... take into consideration this is a guy who is injured, is still more or less unproven at the top level AND has a year or so of his contract left. If Man U want him on the cheap, and Rooney is happy to have a huge slice of the money saved from transfer fees put towards his wages, then all he needs to do is sit tight, sign a pre-contract in Jan and all is well. You could also say that Sir Bobby is simply running down the price saying that Man U are not that interested. Classic case of supply/demand. Oh, and one final thing, ol' Bob is a w@nker who should have his face caved in with a tire iron and left in a pool of his own vomit, piss and blood, so let's ignore anything he says .. Musketeer Gripweed
I would gladly take him at Anfield. Barmby did it, Xavier did it. Both were superb in my opinion at Anfield but were not fancied in the long run by Houllier (what a great judge of player he is though ) Liverpool could afford him, no doubt about it, but he will not be moving over the park. He will be going abroad. Safest place for him after his exclusive this week to that red top rag. As for your Sir Bobby comments
Musketeer Gripweed
Only one other guy did it our way. Someone in the 50's I think whose name escapes me. Will have a Google about it tomorrow I can think of one who went from Urinal to City though.......................... Denis Law

Ric
Denis Law Not just that, but he scored the goal to put Man U down to the (then) 2nd division. Not just that (again), it was a cheeky backhealer! As for Barmby/Xavier, both were pretty much journeymen in the big scheme of things, compare that to the sun that shines out of Rooney's ass. Musketeer Gripweed
Are you that old you remember it? Yup, remember it like it was last week. Clyde were in for Fred Geary but the asking price put them off.
