Right. Own up. Who was it that said no decent games today ?

Tonight's matches look like they might be a bit one sided though, so I'm not as excited about it. I'll give it a whirl though. Everyone seems to have settled down and are playing good darts, so I expect some big scoring and finishing from all of the favourites.

Why didn't you mention Stompe, who HAS beaten Taylor before, averaging 107+ in the process ?

These players have the game to beat Taylor. So does Barneveld actually so long as he has the right mindset, but his mentality these days is shaky at best.

I'm not sure if John Part can up his game quite enough to beat Taylor. Whitlock and Anderson are maybes. Robert Thornton has played his best against Taylor before and been wiped out.

Part is one of a select band who HAS beaten Taylor on TV and still has it in him. If they two meet this year it will be a very close run thing.

I reckon Part was better than he is now. He's very good now, but he'd need Taylor to be off, and to be playing his absolute best, and those aren't two things that happen very often.

My predictions for tonights matches......

Mark Dudbridge v Alan Tabern 2-4

Phil Taylor v Steve Hine 4-0

Robert Thornton v Jyhan Artut 4-3

First game to be fair could go either way, but i think Tabern has the better all round game and if he gets a lead he should coast it.

Second game will be a no-contest, maybe three legs for Hine in total.

Last game could be a close game and again could go either way, Artut will have taken alot of confidence from beating Mardle in the 1st round, even though Mardle was playing like a "b"team reserve.

Thornton can have spells of fantastic darts but he can't sustain it for long enough periods to bury his opponents.
