Big mark has been advised by a specialist his playing career is over after sustaining a bad knee injury in saturdays victory over hurlford, i would just like to thank the big man for what he done for our club during his time at beechwood and wish him all the very best for what he does in the future.

Always sad to hear of any player sustaining a bad injury even more so when it puts an end to a career.

Good luck to Mark

Gutted for Mark, was a superb signing and great player for Irvine Meadow. Was also delighted for the big fella getting his hands on a Junior cup winners medal, even if it was with the Talbot. With his experience & knowledge, I'd like to think we'll see him back in the game in some capacity as soon as possible.

All the best Sparky.

He was a true leader, in a team of true leaders at Beechwood Park last season.

Tremendous presence on the pitch, no nonsense defending, & a constant goal threat from set pieces in the opposition box.

Don't believe anybody won a challenge for a high ball against him last season.

Very sad news, but enjoy your retirement.

sorry to hear Mark's career coming to an early end.

big guy should have won the scottish in his last year at meadow but due to poor decisions from the management team in the second leg against hurlford he remained on the bench instead of on the park.

all the best in the future.

would be a good meadow manager!

It's testament to his longevity that he was still playing at a decent standard at 37!

Here's a list of his clubs:

Bonnyton Thistle BC

Stranraer

Maybole (on loan)

Ayr United

Dalry Thistle (loan)

Falkirk

St. Johnstone

Raith Rovers

Queen of the South

Irvine Meadow

Auchinleck Talbot
