All credit to Dolan, after struggling to settle into the match he has pushed Taylor, admitedly not playing anywhere near his best, in each of the last 3 sets, winning two of them. He's keeping it competitive.

Just checking the projected Order of Merit, Brendan moves to at least 25th, but I'm sad to say that Dennis Priestley has fallen out of the Top 32. He'll find it difficult now to qualify for the World Championship in December.

OOM 25-36

25. Brendan Dolan £92,400

26. Steve Beaton £88,000

27. John Part £85,200

28. Steve Brown £80,800

29. Robert Thornton £79,100

30. Peter Wright £78,400

31. Mark Dudbridge £75,300

32. Jelle Klaasen £70,800

33. Dennis Priestley £65,050

34. Barrie Bates £64,900

35. Justin Pipe £62,600

36. Richie Burnett £61,600

Yet you don't seem to take issue with Terry Jenkins' name being touted. He's exactly as you just described there.

How recently have I said that? Based on how he has played the last year Jenkins doesn't deserve to be in it, and to be honest hes had his fun in the PL, a fresh face deserves a chance over him.

If you want to compare him to Dolan though, their achievements, even in recent times taking into consideration the emergence of some players has seen Jenkins tumble down the OOM a bit, its not even comparable. The acid test of Dolan will come over the next few months. I'd happily bet hes out in every tv tournament by the second round at the latest.

The internet tournament got back underway today. Mark Walsh beat Mervyn King in the final. Baxter and Jones were the bottom two so go out altogether. Tomorrow's group looks like this...

Simon Whitlock

Colin Lloyd

Mervyn King

Jamie Caven

Van der Voort

Andy Smith

Colin Osborne

Kevin Painter

Steve Beaton won today's Group 7 Final which means there's only one place left in Thursday's Grand Final. It'll be one of these eight guys who gets it...

Vincent van der Voort

John Part

Kevin Painter

Alan Tabern

Mark Dudbridge

Jelle Klaasen (was meant to be Co Stompe instead but he pulled out due to illness)

Steve Brown

Dennis Priestley

It's Kevin Painter vs Dennis Priestley in today's final. Den was staring elimination in the face but won his last three matches to sneak into the last play off spot. He beat John Part 6-5 in the semis in order to face Painter.

Priestley's health issues are well known and has admitted himself that his stamina isn't nearly as much as it used to be. For him to come back the way he has through the course of the day is nothing short of fantastic. Really hope he finishes the job off and takes his place in tomorrow's Grand Final.

So, after eight days of action the final group looks very competitive indeed...

Gary Anderson

Phil Taylor

Paul Nicholson

Mark Walsh

Mervyn King

Simon Whitlock

Steve Beaton

Dennis Priestley

There's a place in the Grand Slam for the finalists of this group tomorrow, if they haven't made it already. Only Mark Walsh and Dennis Priestley can take advantage of this as the other six are already preparing for Wolverhampton.

The Grand Slam is just three weeks away and the remaining slots are starting to fill up. 25 have already qualified so there's seven spots left. Two of those go the World Youth finalists, two go to the Wildcard Qualifier finalists and the other three go to the highest non-qualifiers in the PDC, Players' Championship and European order of merits respectively. As it stands Mark Walsh, John Part and Vincent van der Voort qualify through the OOM. Here's the list of who's already there...

Gary Anderson

Barrie Bates

Steve Beaton

Dave Chisnall

Jan Dekker

Brendan Dolan

Ted Hankey

Terry Jenkins

Wayne Jones

Mervyn King

Adrian Lewis

Arron Monk

Wes Newton

Paul Nicholson

Tony O'Shea

John Part

Martin Phillips

Co Stompe

Phil Taylor

Raymond van Barneveld

James Wade

Scott Waites

Mark Webster

Simon Whitlock

Dean Winstanley

I see Chris Mason is making a comeback in the new year and will actually play in the GSOD qualifiers so will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Seems to have a full team behind him ie. fitness coach, sports physcologist etc. Although Burnett has made a great comeback it's going to be extremely difficult to qualify through Q School initially and then try and make an impression on the tour with so many good players about now.

Hankey will be there, he only hates the crowd when he is playing poor darts.

Should be the best GSOD ever this year, Taylor is out to prove himself, so the rest of the field better watch out.

Looking forward to seeing Dave Chisnall again, great scorer when in the groove, but hoping for a Gary Anderson win, he has not been great at GSOD last few years.

Finally all the best to Chris Mason, would love to see him back playing on TV again, and I am sure he can do it

Have the BDO players accepted yet? I remember Hankey said last year he wouldn't come back regardless if he was invited, but I hope he's there.

Weren't his comments more to do with making the move rather than playing in the GSOD. It wasn't really clear either way.

Should be the best GSOD ever this year, Taylor is out to prove himself

Why? He doesn't have to. We all know he's the best in the world and is on form. He has NOTHING to prove. To anyone.
