Caledonian Braves (previously Edusport Academy)
FairWeatherFan replied to Baxter's Nutmeg's topic in Lowland League
Broomhill I wonder about. Cumbernauld Colts I see hanging around. They'd been running an amateur team before the Lowland League. Never really pushed the boat out for the SPFL. Their model seems more in line with all the other former youth/ams that joined the WoSFL. They've just got Broadwood, which is a different kind of cage Braves went through the SoS and persisted with the multiple rejections by the Lowland. They've never seemed to have the grand ambitions of Broomhill or EK. I see them hanging around as the Edusport side of things means it makes financial sense. -

BSC Glasgow got the benefit of the doubt from plenty of people when they first formed. Similarly, Rossvale Juniors. Then ambitions outstripped the foundations. Which led to the BSC/Broomhill and Caley Locos/Rossvale splits. There are now a couple of clubs further up the pyramid than the originating club and its not clear how they're sustainable beyond a handful of people having a vanity project. The backers of Broomhill would probably be better thought of if they folded the club and aided BSC Glasgow's efforts. Instead they've gone down the Open Goal and Dumbarton rental route. To spin this round to Caley Braves. They've at least sorted themselves a home. Although I think the connection between Edusport and the Braves has been cut-off a little. So if Chris Ewing ever walks away it might be another house of cards. -

That's just trolling. Everyone knows it would be alphabetical order with Albion Rovers, Berwick Rangers, and Brechin City getting back in. -

Looks to be the last table of the season. I wonder what changed with Bo'ness United, as in previous seasons they've had complete entries.

Low double digits probably. If we're just talking about what the Braves bring. A factor in the drop-off is the B teams lost their novelty. Celtic B went from 259 to 104 to 48. There was also a point coming out of COVID where they weren't charging tickets prices. 2023-24 = 107 2022-23 = 137 2021-22 = 145 -

From an obvious outsider perspective. Last I heard was they had a planning permission on installing floodlights, which may mean some of the issues around the ground ownership have been resolved. But still haven't put anything up. -

I didn't know for sure until I checked. They've been working through a fixture backlog so it seemed like a good chance. They've just gone Tues-Thurs-Saturday with Wednesday around the corner. -

I think everyone knows the standard ain't great, but a minor cup game when you're going for a league title is hardly a priority. Winning on Wednesday against Wigtown & Bladnoch gives them the edge in the title race, but still means going away to their title rival Creetown in a game they can't afford to lose. -
New clubs in the East of Scotland

30-30-28-30 or 30-30-30-27/36 Which seems unnecessary then? -

Don't think it can be 16-16-16-11. It's either 4 down all the way or 4 up all the way depending on a deficit or surplus from the LL Play-off. Broxburn go up its 16-16-15-11 SoS/WoS go up it'd be 16-16-15-12. -

If Broxburn/Edinburgh University switch places and Rosyth going under. Am I right in thinking the divisions next year will now be: 16-16-15-11 -

Was it the committee? I thought there was an SGM to vote on them. -

This is often the focus when talking about cup runs. That its the successful club that's being negatively impacted. Which in this case from a Premier point of view would be Darvel getting their season extended. But in order to do that, there's two other clubs forced into extending their seasons through no fault of their own.
