  1. Anyone got any experience with the 'Surefix' product of docking station by Mamas and Papas? Still struggling to fit the car seat into the wife's new car now due to the length of the seat belt. It will physically go in but it's at the absolute limit of it's length to do so and, whilst I can force everything in and make it click into place, the wife can't get it which somewhat defeats the purpose as it's her car. Everything fits in mine fine and always did. Apparently there's a 'Surefix' base which gets attached to the car using the seat belt and after that you just click the car seat into it. Clicky. Anyone used it? Does it work? Described as "perfect for cars with short seat belts". Not to be confused with ISOFIX. This is a different thing. Her car isn't equipped for ISOFIX, though again, mine is.
  2. Yes, Murray was completely outclassed by Nadal last night. The conditions were almost farcical, you could see the ball drifting in the wind, and it certainly didn't suit Murray's game but Nadal adapted much better and was in a different league. Still a good week for Murray though who pulls a pile of ranking points back on Djokovic (who won this last year). Gap between the two is down to 570 points. Next up is Miami where both lost in the last 64 last year so are each defending just 10 points. He also solidly established himself as a top four player, extending his lead over Davydenko in 5th to over 3,000 points.
  3. We weren't charged for scan photos, nor was there the slightest suggestion of a donation box anywhere either. Didn't realise that you get charged elsewhere! One of the operators did say at one point "We aren't allowed to give you two photos from one visit" which I presumed meant they are expensive but, as they'd actually printed two to look at, I couldn't see the point in not giving them both to us.
  4. How many of the 'chip on the shoulder' brigade do you think you'll reel in with that one Stewart?
  5. Congrats. We had that too. Took ages to get all the right measurements. You seem to have a lot more scan photos than we do though. We only got about three in total I think over half a dozen scans. There was one really good one where he was looking right at the camera but we certainly didn't ever get more than one from any one scan visit.
  6. I only saw the second set but I'd have said it was far from vintage Murray. Plenty of rust still there and he was struggling with fitness late in the second set I thought.
  7. Did he say that? I didn't see it if he did. Link? I recall him conceding he'd played badly and deserved to lose but none of the rest of it. If he did it's a strange attitude considering, unlike the Davis Cup, there were Rankings Points at stake.
  8. There are no statutory implications in SFL rules for entering administration however many times it is. Rule 76.2 of the SFL Rulebook: > The Management Committee shall also have full power to deal with as it thinks fit, including > power to deduct championship points before or during a season and/or to impose a player > registration embargo on any club guilty of conduct contrary to the interests of the League and > its member clubs or any registered player or former registered player, or potentially likely to > prejudice the orderly progress of the League Championship and/or the League Challenge Cup > competition in any season. Such conduct, for the avoidance of doubt, may include a club in or > going into Administration, Liquidation, Receivership, Sequestration or any other insolvency > procedure by whatever means or having a Judicial Factor appointed to its undertaking. which basically says, if you enter administration the League Management Committee will probably take some action but aren't bound to do so and nor is there any compulsory amount of points involved.
  9. I realise this is completely irrelevant since you are looking at travelling at 19 weeks which is fine, but seriously, your midwife can say what she likes, I'd doubt the airline would carry a mother at over 30 weeks except in cases of dire emergency. They have too much to lose from it. And you certainly wouldn't get travel insurance unless it was specialist and extremely expensive.
  10. Who told you that? You'd be very unlikely to be allowed to travel anywhere near that late. Airlines will generally not carry mums to be over 27 or 28 weeks and certainly you'll have a hard job getting travel insurance for it even if you could find an airline willing to take you. Albeit, if she's 19 weeks you won't have a problem anyway. Mrs SD went to Denmark with Queens in late August when she was 13 weeks or so I think. We checked with her doctor and the insurance company first though and told a couple of selected people who were with us who wouldn't otherwise have been told until a good deal later.
  11. It no doubt would have been but frankly it was completely impractical attempting to maneouvre much through the tight space over the back of the front seat into the back at the best of times. And it would only have been deferring the problem down the line six months max until he was slightly bigger so why bother? Better to get the car sorted out now and have something she can use for a good few years with plenty of space. I'd also have needed to change the type of seat belts installed in the back as well as buy a new car seat to avoid changing the car.
  12. Ah Friday night was a bugger of a night! And I had the laptop downstairs while I tried to get him to sleep so hence the post. He got off to sleep about 4:30am finally. I think he woke again about 8ish or 8:30 but as the wife got up and dealt with that I'm not entirely sure. Wee monster! On the other hand, last night was much better. He lay awake (but not making too much noise) from his evening bath and through two feeds to about half past midnight (maybe got half an hour's sleep in there somewhere). Helpfully once his mother had gone to bed I also got a nappy explosion to deal with where he not only made a huge mess in his nappy, he also somehow contrived to get it in his vest and down his left leg into the babygrow! I finally got him off to sleep about 1:30am, took him upstairs to his Moses basket about 2am and he slept through to 8am this morning. Result! Trying the same tactic tonight but he hasn't had much sleep through the day today so nothing we do seems to be keeping him awake at the moment. I therefore antcipate another bad night in getting him to sleep later. Interesting that they "won't" actually what the sex is tell you where you are. I got the impression ours were desperate to tell us, and I'd happily have let them, but the wife didn't want to know so that was that. Nursery was always going to be a neutral cream colour even if we had known and any baby stuff we bought in advance was white or cream or yellow too. They do tell you in advance not to buy much in the way of clothes as people will arrive with it by the armfuls and, though I suppose it's always going to depend to an extent on how wide your circle of friends and workmates is, I can only reiterate that. Thomas has so many clothes now that I genuinely think he'll never get around to wearing some of them, especially the smaller ones. We're actually having to go out and buy a new chest of drawers to store all the extra clothes he got which are at the moment simply piled up in the cot! We got a lot of duplicates and some where we knew where they'd come from have been returned to be swapped for bigger sizes as most of the clothes we got were for newborn or 0-3 months. People have been so very generous though. It's been quite humbling in many ways. Interesting that you are very obvious and can feel movements on 2o weeks or so. I can't in truth remember when Maureen became obviously pregnant. It possibly was about then, maybe a little later, but inevitably it will depend on your natural body shape and the type of clothes you tend to wear. I do however remember that it was nearer 27 weeks or so before Maureen realised she was feeling movements and certainly later than that before I could. From what I recall the maternity staff suggested it was normal from the early 20's so I reckon you're quite early at that. It's also possible Maureen was feeling things without really recognising what they were. Anyway, good luck with everything this week. Obviously there's always a chance something might be wrong but by now it probably would have shown anyway so I'm sure it'll be fine. All the best.
  13. These nights with no sleep are great, eh! Driving to Airdrie in less than 8 hours and I haven't been to bed for 23 hours whilst Thomas hasn't slept for five hours so far. This thread has slipped back a bit I see. No P&B baby news this week? Oh, and with reference to the above, we're still second carless three days after we should have got it due to some electrical fault. We are at least getting a complimentary courtesy car from tomorrow morning until the new one is sorted. Happy Days.
  14. Well that's why I actually said in the first post, "How many were played by anyone other than Bogdanovic?" Seriously though, since that game against Zimbabwe we've played 25 Davis Cup ties according to Wiki. Wiki has detailed results for the most recent 16 but not the 9 before that. In the most recent 16, the following players have played a live singles rubber other than the big three: 2009 v Ukraine - Josh Goodall lost in 3 sets (all tiebreaks) to Marchenko ; Chris Eaton lost in 4 sets to Stakhovsky 2008 v Argentina - Jamie Baker lost in 3 sets to Nalbandian ; Bogdanovic lost in 3 sets to Calleri 2008 v Austria - Bogdanovic lost in 4 sets to Melzer & in 4 sets to Peya 2006 v Serbia - Arvind Parmar lost in 3 sets to Djokovic 2006 v Israel - Bogdanovic lost in 3 sets to Okun ; Jamie Delgado lost in 5 sets to Okun 2005 v Israel - Bogdanovic lost in 3 sets to Okun 2005 v Switzerland - Alan Mackin lost in 3 sets to Federer 2004 v Luxembourg - Parmar lost in 5 sets to Muller 2003 v Australia - Mackin lost in 3 sets to Philippoussis ; Bogdanovic lost in 3 sets to Hewitt 2002 v Thailand - Martin Lee lost in 3 sets to Srichaphan So, in the last 16 matches, there's been 15 live rubbers played by someone other than the big three, of which two were this weekend and Bogdanovic played six of the other 13. That's only seven other failed attempts. Of the seven failures, one was against Federer. No shame there. One also against Djokovic. No real shame there either. Jamie Baker couldn't seriously have been expected to beat Nalbandian, nor Mackin to beat 'The Scud' either. Which leaves what? Delgado's defeat to Noam Okun and Parmar's to Gilles Muller. And possibly Martin Lee's loss to Srichaphan, although the Thai was a bloody good player for a while. I would imagine even more of the pre 2002 games were played by Henman and Rusedski so I'm not expecting an awful lot more lost live rubbers in the group I don't have results for. I'm not saying it's good, clearly it's not, I just don't think it's quite as disgraceful or "disgusting" as it's being made out to be. EDIT - Apart from Bogdanovic obviously! RE-Edit - I've worked out how to interrogate the Davis Cup website for historic results. Those other 9 ties failed rubbers for non big 3 players: 2000 v Czech Republic - Delgado lost in 3 sets to Jiri Novak 2000 v Ecuador - Parmar lost in 5 sets to Giovanni Lapentti 1997 v Zimbabwe - Delgado lost to Byron Black on Day 2 AFTER the Richardson win. So actually in all the time since Richardson beat Black in 5 sets we've had 18 "live" singles rubbers in a row lost by someone other than Henman, Rusedski and Murray, four of which were in the last two ties. Bogdanovic had 5 of the other 14 and most of the rest were simply the result of playing against better players. A couple of winnable losses for Parmar, both in five set matches, and maybe a couple for Delgado is all that's really disappointing.
  15. Jamie Murray wasn't picked because he's hardly won a game for a year and is way out of form. He's got better pedigree than anyone else available but no form to speak of. If we were to be relegated it would be to Group 2 of the Euro African Zone where we'd face the likes of Ireland!
  16. I've never even heard of him! I'm not sure it's that disgusting though is it? Like I suggested before, I'd imagine for most of that time only those three played live rubbers? I know there'd have been injuries from time to time but how many live rubbers were actually played by anyone else? And how many of those by someone other than Bogdanovic? We only play a couple of Davis Cup matches a year. Since 1997 there will have been what, the low 20's in matches?
  17. Why not? I'd have thought it might have been longer actually. That's only ten years, the vast majority of which has seen some combination of the three names above being the singles players and, when any of them weren't there, Alex Bogdanovic stepping in and we all know about his infamously atrocious David Cup record! The presence of those three, particularly the first two has also had us playing Davis Cup sometimes at a level higher than we would normally be and when anyone else has occasionally had a game they've faced someone much better than them normally. I recall Arvind Parmar chucking away a winning position in one or two games when he breifly flattered to deceive about being a half decent player. EDIT - Actually on checking the spelling of Parmar's name on Wiki I see it claims he DID win a Davis Cup tie match in 2006 so your stat is wrong it would seem (or Wiki is but it's very specific). I think it's more likely the stat given was that no-one other than those three has won a rubber that wasn't dead in that time. And if so then it's still true as the game was already lost before Eaton's win today. FURTHER EDIT - ApparentlyJamie Baker won a dead 5th rubber in the last tie in Argentina too. Alan Mackin won a dead 5th rubber v Israel in 2006 and, astonishingly enough, Bogdanovic won one against Todd Woodbridge of Australia in 2003. Records on Wiki only go back to 2002 in terms of individual match results. In 1997 we won 3-2 against Ukraine and lost 4-1 to Zimbabwe. presumably this win for someone else was in one of those two games, more likely the former.
  18. Maybe not the right thread for this but we lost 4-1 to Ukraine with Eaton getting a consolation fifth rubber 7-5 in the 3rd. Highly debatable that Murray would have made much difference? He would almost certainly have gotten two singles but would he have played doubles? And would he have won even if he had played? I suspect had Murray been available it would have been Eaton who didn't play so we'd most likely still only have gotten two singles and it would only have been relevant if Murray had played and won doubles and I don't think it was Lloyd's intention that he do so was it?
  19. Having said all that, we've just spent £5k on a 5 door Fiesta this morning (less a generous trade in on the Toyota) having taken it for a test drive and checked the fit of the car seat. 06 plate so newer than I ideally wanted but it's a good deal, a good car and ticks the boxes. Hopefully get it actually changed for Wednesday subject to getting insurance sorted out in time.
  20. Nine months since the Scottish Cup Final. Although Cresswell (Maternity Unit, Dumfries) actually wasn't all that busy.
  21. Bloody Toyota confirmed that so far as they are concerned there is no legal way to disable the airbags in the front of the Yaris. So that car's fecked then. Can't use it. Looks like we might be able to use my mum's Fiesta but still to be absolutely confirmed. More likely we'll just have to buy a new car. Washing machine is now fixed (£52 later) though.
  22. Mmm, really don't want to spend 5k on a second car, even with a generous trade in on her Yaris that's still way more than I want to spend. I am going to have a look at things in terms of sticking it in the front seat at home tonight. I'm informed by my friend that they think it can be removed but only by a Toyota dealer and they will make us sign a waiver before they do it (which is fair enough of course). I'd like to maybe look at getting a 51 plate Golf or Focus or something similar but beggars can't be choosers and we'll probably need to move fast rather than wait around for the right car. Checking also to see if my mother's three door Fiesta has a front passenger airbag. If it doesn't then a car swap is a possibility but if it does then we're no further forward.
  23. By "disable" I presumed the whole thing was removed, no? I've e-mailed a friend in the motor trade to ask for advice.
