I honestly don't know the ins and outs of this, but read that when he came to Celtic we took over his contract which did have a EBT element, my understanding is that Quinn stopped it immediately and we paid tax on all his earnings.
If someone knows different, lets hear it...and to answer the Captain's question, if he did recieve a side contract then any game he played in should be forfeited by 3 goals imo. I'm pretty sure Quinn gave no truck to EBT's
You kidding? the bloo knight's have nearly £15 million.
I agree, the question for me as I said a few weeks ago,is what are the SPL and SFA going to do about the decades of side contracts, which incidently stand alone from the tax case
It's more than that, this goes right to the heart of fair play in the game....I know that Celtic abd Rangers have run the game to their advantage since they have been able to do so, but this is beyond the pale
I can only say, once again, that it is my sincere opinion that Celtic will not vote for this and will make it known that they will not vote for this, if I'm wrong that I will consider not watching a team I have supported and followed home and away since I was able to do so
While agreeing with most of that I think you are being unfair on Celtic, Rangers are in this position, not Celtic, so that question does not arise, it may do for other SPL clubs in the future. But this is Rangers that is being discussed...lumping us both together in this instance dilutes the argument imo
See, we won't deal with the problem, we can't, it's never about Rangers or Celtic, it's always them both. This is about Rangers running up huge debts by cheating Scottish football for decades, not the old firm, it confuses the issue
Celtic will need to make their position clear, the fans will demand it. IMO they will not support these proposals
I've never hidden the fact that I believe that Celtic should stop moaning about lack of competition while working with Rangers screw the other SPL teams, this is the time they should be grabbing along with the rest of the SPL to change Scottish football for the betterment of all teams that have not cheated for decades
That means nothing to me, Celtic's identity is very successful and appealing regardless of what happens to Rangers, I beleive that the people taht run my club believe that too
