  1. I simply don't accept your reading of the difference between the two scenarios nor the way you suggest it may play out. At the core of your point you suggested that if Johnson doesn't accept it, nobody else will. I'm not sure if Trump was accepting of recent events elsewhere so I'm not sure that the constructs of anti democratic demagogues will be seen as anything other than what it is.
  2. In normal times any one of those tweets would be enough to have the candidate dropped. I was going to speculate on the likelihood of them having to disown one but if they don't distance themselves from that, well then, I just don't know. Strange times, strange times. Oh, I see he's "clarified" for us, used the some of my best friends are Romanian line so I guess it's time to move on but I do hope he's as far down the list as possible.
  3. The question was on EU voting rights, not the Euro. Scotland, like Sweden will be accepted. Scotland, like Croatia won't be required to adopt the Euro. Anyone arguing to the contrary is doing so from a novel position.
  4. This argument is not even in the same postcode as rational. The Scottish Parliament is and will remain in Edinburgh. The only thing that stops that is Lizzie agreeing to abolish it. When we are independent, the Westminster Parliament ceases to have the ability as they said just a few days ago to divert funds to gerrymander places of their choice. So places like the highlands and islands and the borders suffer nothing in terms of their voice, in fact quite the opposite.
  5. What? For you? If you are having difficulty with the words (there's a lot of them and some you might not have encountered before), slowly run your finger under each one and say them out loud. Repeat any you aren't sure of. You'll get the hang of it with practice.
  6. Why would you want to appear as so mean? There's really no need for it.
  7. Yes, they all have a veto and if that were the case on this island we would not be in the desperate situation we find ourselves in.
  8. No I don't but the key is not the staunch 20%, it's about the others in Scotland who are persuadable. The rest of the uk is immaterial but the persuadables in Scotland will take a dim view of political leaders with an anti democratic purpose. Oh and also, your three scenarios as I've already explained are simplistic. Nicola has already said that it's up to Johnson to challenge through the courts if he has a gripe. Else it is not outside a legislative process.
  9. Your trepidation is well founded given that in the long history of the amalgamated club* there is a risible record to buck. I have been alerted to the fact that Ross County have singularly failed to win against the Caley in the Scottish Cup. If true and given the mismatch in resources, I find this to be an unlikely but satisfying statistic. My memory doesn't serve me so well but was it in the Scottish that Philip Roberts scored at the jail end to secure a well deserved draw so very deep into injury time and that just after what would have been a home winner scored at the staunchly sounding jubilee end? Was that the game and the moment that Derek Adams did his wee grimace dance? Anyway, I digress and given that 2014/2015 gave us the greatest ever highland sporting achievement, this competition is one I certainly look forward to. *I see it's almost a century since the staunchly sounding Victoria and Dingwall Thistle got together. I wonder who the centenary game will be against?
  10. Given the context of and the nature of this forum just at the moment I can forgive you for being simplistic. The referendum will be scheduled and if it so wishes the uk government can challenge it through the courts but as we know there is no certainty in that outcome. Simply not recognising the referendum is not an option. DRoss has used the word wildcat and it is obvious what he's up to. However, I do not think for one moment that Anas Sarwar and whoever takes over from Willie Rennie will align themselves with the tolies and deny a clear expression of the electorate. We therefore start the referendum process and if Johnson immediately challenges it, they are doubling down on their fail and that's a terrible look. If they win in court, it just kicks the can down the road and with that we get further away from 1945 with fewer blazer wearers by the day to bolster the Winston based support. If they lose, wow, cobbling together a no campaign with that backdrop would be something. If they leave it until after the yes vote, they're throwing all their cash at one horse in a two horse race. The only sensible option is to accept a referendum at the earliest opportunity and give it all the negative they can in the hope that Lizzie will purr once again.
  11. Indeed but given that this is a brexit thread, there is one poster that in the space of a few hours expressed remain. neutral and leave alignments. Well done for indulging.
  12. Isn't "wildcat" the correct term inasmuch as what he's conjuring is, at least for those of a certain age, enemy of the state wildcat strikes, Red Robbo and chaos. Oh and I'm sick of seeing that tacky photo frame and what is presumably his child. Imagine using your children to convey a political message. How cheap.
  13. Showed composure and control where there was precious little previously. I'm excited by the prospect of Welsh and Allen providing the craft required to build upon McCann's foundation. When he gets fitter I'd expect the close control to open out into end product.
  14. It wasn't the Daily Record that announced a desperate pit of debit, it was our chairman. That's not "no money", rather it's day in day out losses. Just a few months ago we delayed pre season training in order to keep staff on furlough. I'm not quite sure how they are managing it but to firstly stop the money pit getting deeper and to legally run a business that sees us in with a shout of promotion is, I'd suggest, pretty good going and I'd defy any objective view to the contrary.
  15. Electoral Calculus found the SNP would win 71 seats in the Scottish parliament – six more than the 65 needed to win a majority Scottish Tories would be the next biggest party in Scotland with 24 Labour came in third with 19 seats 48 percent of Scots would vote yes. Just 44 percent thought Scotland should remain in the Union and voted no. The remaining eight percent were undecided
  16. The uninformed call for obstruction when a defender shepherds a ball out is ignored on account of it not being related to the rules
  17. "finally get the goal they deserved" In actual fact Arbroath were looking more likely to score before the great delivery from Harper
  18. Shane Sutherland has the touch of a giraffe with gout
  19. The thing is and you'd never guess it, he is an actual referee!
  20. The camera searching out all of the training balls is making me queasy
  21. Well that's a pretty offensive smear and if you're trolling in a good old fashioned lib Dem style, good luck to you
  22. Given recent history I should imagine most people would be well served and smart enough to avoid being inveigled into any DRoss strategy. Even Willie Rennie.
