  1. I really hope the mentality for this game is keeping our 5th spot. In essence it's a nothing game for both clubs I suppose. Surely Bearne will get a run out from the start along with Jai. Garrity may be injured as he came off in the 1st half last week. McGrattan may get a look in too. Would maybe rest both Robbie's or give them 60 mins each. Could be the last game at Cappielow for Morton for a few of them, who knows? 1-0 Morton
  2. With the league won and the promotion playoff's teams confirmed, we can focus solely on who will get the coveted 9th spot for the relegation playoff. Remaining fixtures below for all teams who can finish 9th, but in reality Dunfermline are safe, but added them anyway. Some difficult games for all in the last two fixtures... Dunfermline ICT (H) Ayr (A) Ayr Partick Thistle (A) Dunfermline (H) ICT Dunfermline (A) Morton (H) Queens Park Arbroath (A) Airdrie (H)
  3. First and foremost we are safe from getting dragged into a relegation dogfight. But our mindset should be on finishing 5th
  4. ICT obviously deserved something from the game. But you don't get the luck or the breaks at the bottom end of the table
  5. Raith are woeful here. They actually look a bit leggy and lethargic and that's not what you want going into the playoffs
  6. Imrie has to put his hands up for that defensive selection. A complete shambles and not surprised by the scoreline. I thought he was going with 3 at the back and Wilson and French out wide. That would at least made some kind of sense. But O'Connor RB and French LB gave me the fear when they lined up at the start of the game. And so it came to pass we shipped 4 goals. Lets never see that line up again! Utd deserved their win. No complaints on that as the better team on the night won
  7. I would say it's a back 3 with Wilson and French out wide with Jai or Big Robbie as our CF
  8. I thought he was excellent at Ibrox and he's someone who's always impressed me. I don't see someone of his age sitting on the bench as Mullen will be our No. 1 So can't see him staying regardless.. We do however require an adequate back up to Mullen as he won't play every game next season. Murdoch is not the answer as yet
  9. There is no issue with McDonald's ability, only his fitness. Throughout his career he has been an excellent keeper. Also played a blinder for us at Ibrox too. I don't know what his injury is but if he can fully recover then we really should be considering him. Whether he would want to be back up to Mullen at his age maybe a deciding factor of course. Waters is a competent player at this level. I don't see an issue in keeping him next season. Who knows what our budget will be next season. We need to increase the size of the squad for sure. It would be great to upgrade in all positions, but budget restrictions may hamper that. Giving a contract to competent players like Waters, who really haven't let us down is maybe an unavoidable route we will have to take
  10. McDonald when fit is one of the best keepers in this division. I'm not sure what his injury actually is but if he can get back to full fitness then I would keep. Mullen seems to have injury problems throughout his career so regardless we cannot go into next season with an inexperienced back up keeper. Broadfoot is a fitness fanatic, but even so, I'm not sure if he has another season in him at this level. At the start of this season I thought he would have been used sparingly but has played in most games over the season. He's also contributed with goals too. Muirhead has 15 or 16 goals this season, that will be hard to replace if Robbie moves on. He's also played in most of our games this season which is also a great return. In fact so have Blues and Crawford and all of them look a bit fatigued now. If Strapp goes then Waters is a very decent player at this level. French will probably move on, but would keep as I think with a good pre-season he could be a very good player for us. Power has played some great games for us and perhaps not being rested recently has resulted in a drop in form. I like him and hope he has another season with us. Blues progression as a player seems to have come to a halt. Imrie seems to like him but he is one frustrating player. Gillespie has had a poor season compared to last season. He's a 50/50 for me as is Jai. We know when on form and fit there's not many defences that can handle him. Depending on his fitness 50/50. McGrattan hasn't taken his chances when given a start in the team. How long do you give him? I don't think the squad needs a massive cull. Some will move on to other clubs, some will be let go. It's getting the right replacements and having a bigger squad of players for next season
  11. A draw probably a fair result in a game which was not for the purists. It's also a draw on the road too at a difficult venue. We didn't create much in the 2nd half and we just seen the game out in the end up.
  12. We need to get more balls into the box as the Ayr defence is a bit of a shambles with cross balls and set pieces. We sat back on a 1-0 lead, which I kind of understand, but we need to get that 2nd goal now
  13. That incident was pathetic. Ayr player trying to get Baird sent off with his theatrics.
