Statement out from the club today suggesting that we probably shouldn’t be holding our breath for any immediate signings. Most likely be after the cup games are out of the way and clubs are more open to loaning players out.

Glad to see the early bird season ticket offer has been extended as I’m waiting to hear about a change in role at work so can’t commit to buying one until that is confirmed either way.

quite well known that funding is limited at the moment, ideally we need an extra 100 on each home gate.  Although we have 2 home games against Arbroath, that's still way down on what Falkirk, Dunfermline and the likes brought in

You beat me to it Ludo , I was just about to ask the same as I’ve never saw him play before

very impressed with Luke Graham, very strong and controlled player who played with more experience than his years.  His distribution was a bit dodgy to begin with but that really improved over the season.  He'll be a huge miss for us, unsure if he'll maybe still go on loan to a full time team next season?

Issue here is that if they're not in the ground, what power do the club have over it? My mate saw bottles being thrown at the bus after the game and apparently the police just stood back and let it happen? The wee bams know no-one's going to touch them.

Anyway, we had what few moments of quality there were in a game forgettable but for the stoppage-time goal. McPake was the standout but great composure from Spence and Offord for the winner.

Can confirm the police stood and did nothing, leaving 2 female stewards to run after the bus trying to stop the bottles and stones being thrown at the bus.

I have seen video footage and pictures and can confirm the large pie eating youth was the ringleader

as for the game, one to easily forget for Montrose. Worst I’ve seen in a long time, with Stirling winning due to being slightly less poor than us

    Agree.

Still baffles me a wee bit how we didn't really strengthen in January,I get the young lads are doing well and a few were coming back from injury but for me I'd have liked to have seen a player or two on loan in the door.

I would imagine finance played a big part in that.  We were never going to make a permanent signing in the window and perhaps the bigger clubs wanted full payment of wages for anyone going out on loan

Well that was a brutal 90+ minutes of fitba. We were just never at the races today and spent too much time lobbing balls forward to the efficient Annan back line who love to foul and head fitbas. They went ahead with a good goal which we never looked like replying to however this didn't stop Annan wasting time all through the second half which the ref finally had enough of in the 94th minute and forced a card from him.

The officiating was as brutal as our play today and some of the decisions left you wondering if it was some kind of YouTube prank where 4 lads buy themselves sfa blazers and blag their way onto the pitch.

In the end it was a point that felt like three and put me home happier that I would've expected.

Special mention to Paul Watson in his testimonial year who bust a gut trying to get the team going. Wish we had him for a few more years but unfortunately he old 😂

Second half was delayed when our young sub keeper apparently dislocated an ankle at half time on the pitch. The ambulance arrived as we were leaving the ground at full time.

It wasn’t our sub keeper, it was Alex Balfour. Very bad from what I’ve heard, ankle seemingly round the wrong way

  6. Seems my attendance comment has opened up a can of worms. By no means was it meant to be a competition, and our attendances have certainly gotten smaller this season.

As many people have mentioned or questioned is how Cove manage to continue a hybrid model with a smaller gate income, but as has been mentioned in this thread, income is raised with the likes of corporate hospitality etc

  7. Great result for Montrose, full points from back to back 6 pointers is just amazing.

As good as Montrose were, Cove were rotten. Could and maybe should have been 5 up at the break.

Couldn’t fault anyone in the Montrose squad, good to see another couple of youngsters coming off the bench

How poor are the crowds at cove? Ok, we’re not much better but Montrose must have had more fans there than Cove?

On to next week and a very winnable match v Annan

  8. What a game! It had nearly everything. Could have gone either way I guess but Montrose just that bit more clinical in front of goal.

No idea what the straight red was for, was it a kick out or dissent? I was fearing the worst when Sammon came on, thought he was bound to score and then thought Alloa’s keeper had snatched a draw at the end.

Another massive game next week against cove to look forward to. Hopefully Luke Graham’s injury isn’t too serious.

Lastly, hope all is well with our elderly fan who suffered what appeared to be a medical emergency in the second half and was stretchered away

All very quiet so far for Montrose on the transfer front I was hoping we would have our business done early as the games are coming thick and fast.

Usually we do it all at the end of the window. With Towler going back to Aberdeen and Thomson back to United I’d hope to see 2 other loan players come in at least

  10. Thoroughly deserved victory for Queens. Montrose were simply horrific. 4th goal was a screamer, I was fortunate or unfortunate from a Montrose point of view to see if was arriving into the top corner from the moment it left his boot.

Petrie had the wrong team out there, albeit we have injuries. Only pleasing aspect was 3 of the under-18s getting a decent run out in the second half

Is there potential for Arbroath to go full time or hybrid?

Campbell has worked wonders at Arbroath and you could say, better the devil you know, He'd have kept Arbroath up this year again but the football might be rotten. A new manager might not keep you up and then you have to try and get back out a League one with potentially three full time teams in it.

But he was going to leave sometime and maybe having groundwork in place for a replacement in advance would have helped.

If Cove can do it the surely Arbroath can. Much bigger fan base but don’t have the balmoral group bank rolling the club I guess

Forget about last night and move on....

January for me we need 2-3 players in for one we need a ball winner in the mould of Terry Masson in the middle of the park also someone to help Kane, when he goes off we are left with Batchelor(Not good enough at the minute) and Paul Watson make shift striker we need someone else up top with a bit of quality.

Key to January is keeping hold of Miller Thomson, he is such a talent.  Not sure how long it'll be for Towler to return to action, is it worth cancelling that loan deal and bring in a central  midfielder on loan..............Cammy F Ballantyne anyone?
