Max Johnston should be getting about 260 Scotland caps for being 100 x the player Stephen O'Donnell is.

Did we achieve that multiple times this season?
I'm pretty sure we didn't register an attempt on goal when we meekly surrendered the last time at Pittodrie against Celtic.
We have form for meekly surrendering to Celtic.
If we set up like we did today in our European away fixtures then we'll all set for a campaign on a par with Sevco in the Chumpions League.
On that occasion you didn't have a shot on target but you did have 5 shots.
This time you literally didn't manage a shot.

Aberdeen are the only team in the Scottish Premiership to not register a shot during a league match this season.

What happened?
Lost the plot on Radio Scotland when it was suggested, correctly, that he needs a stronger squad.

Celtic have three clean sheets in 13 league matches were they have averaged 74% possession.
Their defence stinks, Carter-Vickers, or no Carter-Vickers and while a budget 10, 15, 20 times Livingston, St Johnstone etc will win you a Scottish league title you have to assume another European white wash is incoming next season.

Unrelated to the above, United look like a decent team going forward to me, but I *really* worry about the fact their defence has actually regressed further under Goodwin (who has no track record in a relegation fight lets not forget).
Don't think it's regressed it's just always been terrible.
1 clean sheet in the last 16 league matches can't all be put on Goodwin.
Hard to see Dundee Utd not finishing in the bottom 2 now.
I'd go as far as to say if Kilmarnock beat St Johnstone next week they won't finish in the bottom 2, while St Johnstone travel away to Ross County the week after.
St Johnstone have only scored 3 goals in their last 8 matches and every other team in that area is in the 9/10 goals region. That can't be good for your survival prospects.

Kevin Van Veen goal against Kilmarnock at the weekend made it 7 successive fixtures that he's scored in.
I had a quick look and I think the next best this season is Furuhashi and Shankland on 4.
Anyone know what the record is for the SPFL or historically in the Scottish top tier or Scottish football in general?

Morelos is probably my favourite Rangers striker of all time but the idea he's better than Larsson is beyond ridiculous.
Just one of those opposition players that you can't deny their class and ability.
Morelos in six seasons at Rangers has managed 15 league goals, eh.... once.
He's a howlin' semi pro fatso who pockets fans money while displaying all the professionalism of a second rate Leigh Griffiths.
Why Rangers fans have any time for this clutch of high wage chicken hearted losers like Tavernier, Goldson, Kent, Morelos etc I have no idea.

Tavernier doing everything to prove my theory that he's literally the worst defender of all time.
But he scores 10 penalties a year and a couple of free kicks....so it's all fine apart from Rangers winning nothing.

Worth remembering our points tally includes 2pts gained from Uniteds goalkeeper allowing us a tap in
Everyone's had 2pts gained from Uniteds goalkeeper this season.
Probably evens out.

The form guide from the turn of the year.
Celtic - 34 pts
Rangers - 31 pts
Aberdeen - 22 pts
St Mirren - 19 pts
Motherwell - 18 pts
Hearts - 17 pts
Hibs - 17 pts
Livingston - 15 pts
Ross County - 12 pts
Dundee Utd - 9 pts
Kilmarnock - 9 pts
St. Johnstone - 8 pts
That suggests while St Johnstone are the worst team in the league right now they have enough of a gap to cling on to Premiership survival. Also suggests Ross County are performing a wee bit better than the other candidates.
Looks like it's between Kilmarnock and Dundee Utd to decide who gets automatic relegation or a play off. Kilmarnock have the tougher fixtures before the league splits.

Saints’ away form has been what’s kept them ticking this season and they travel to a flat-looking Livi so I’d expect them to pick up points Saturday.
I didn't think Livi were that bad between the two boxes on Saturday. The problem was their defence had a shocker and we played straight through them a dozen times in the first half hour. And Guthrie in particular was a waste of a shirt up front.
They've changed from there usual back 4 to 3 at the back in the last two games and conceded 6 first half goals. I'd bet my bottom dollar they go back to a back 4 and bring Anderson back in for the rotten Guthrie.

Interesting that Rangers, Aberdeen and Hearts, currently 2nd, 3rd and 4th have all fired their manager while St Johnstone, kilmarnock and Ross County currently 9th, 10th and 11th haven't.

Was looking at the Scottish Premiership scorer and assist charts.
Out of the 20 positions (Top 10 scorers & Top 10 assists) there were 2 Scottish players. Shankland and Turnbull.

O'Donnell put in one of the worst performances in a Motherwell shirt I've ever seen tonight.
We'll improve our chances of staying up 10 fold this season if we never play him again.

So what's going on at Juventus?
I mean probably cheating and corruption but more specifically.....

Agree with the Suede comments a bloody good album (assuming you like Suede, which I do)
I was a fan back in the day and still love the first two LPs but I didn't really like their 'comeback' albums. Just felt like music that had had it's day.
Would you say this new one is a step up from 'Bloodsports' or 'Night Thoughts'? Or along similar lines?

Absolutely one of those songs in 'the louder the better' category.

Cloud Rap/Emo Rap mostly terrible. I consider Bladee and his pals to be the worst artists in the entire history of music including Australopithicus smashing two antelope skulls together.
Power metal is terrible but at least can be funny/terrible. Nu Metal is just grim, hollering mediocrity.
Most Industrial/Martial music is garbage and the individuals that listen to it are highly suspect. I will accept a few exceptions like Ministry and NIN.
Prog Rock is awful as well. King Crimson are pretty much the only 'prog' band I like unless you are sticking groups like Amon Duul II in that bracket (I wouldn't).
Pat Nevin won't like this but I'd happily beat Cocteau Twins to death with a golf club. I sure we could bond over other 80's jangle merchants like The Dentists or The Sea Urchins though.
Although I'm a big fan of hip hop I'm not a big fan of UK hip hop. There is some good stuff here and there but I'd say it's a good 90% tripe.

Some older Motherwell fans might remember a match at Brockville. The lights went out and the game was cancelled and we all had to go down a narrow staircase, I think they were handing out free tickets for the replay and there was a crush on the staircase. I don't think anyone was actually hurt but it was a bit scary and on an other day it could have been a whole different story. Pretty lucky it turned up the way it did.
Obviously this event in Korea is a great tragedy but I was thinking about people dressing up as ghosts and zombies and then actually dying which is kind of weird and fucked up.

I tried to work out Scottish football's European aggregate score this season and it was beyond my mental arithmetic abilities but it was something like 13-45.
Ouch.

Are you seriously suggesting clubs could get Scottish players better than the foreign ones they're signing for the same price? You've either not thought this through or are xenophobic.
The single biggest reason the Scottish league is completely shite is we don't produce anywhere near enough talent and what talent we do produce is almost instantly snapped up because the low yield, sell on instantly process has been going on for a long, long time.
Back in the eighties loads of Scottish players went to youth sides in England or were playing in various English leagues right up to the very top level. It didn't really impact the Scottish leagues because there was still plenty top talent around.
Now I'll admit that more than likely modern economics would have taken guys like Willie Miller, Maurice Malpas, Paul McStay etc down south but the point is if you produce enough good talent consistently the overall player base doesn't get watered down.
The general standard of the player base in the Scottish Premier League these days is absolute garbage.
In important positions like striker or goalkeeper almost no young Scottish players get a chance to develop while we import in tripe like Aaron Chapman, Yves Makalamby or Mark Birighitti.
How much foreign dross floats through our league ever season never to be seen again without making any impact whatsoever?
Sure Jota is a great player, he's earned his spot in our league but what about Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Corey Panter, Armand Gnanduillet, Justin Amaluzor, Eetu Vertainen, Kristian Dennis, Chris Mueller etc, etc. Just a small selection of last seasons nobodies we pay for nothing while committing footballing hari-kari.
It would actually be interesting to go through, say every foreign striker employed in our league over the last 10 years and see how many of them actually scored, say, more than 5 goals or even at all.

At this point Celtic are like the 14 year old that batters his 6 year old kid brother for touching his stuff.

What's the most "Tin Pot" thing you've seen in the SPFL
in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Posted · Edited by Ya Bezzer!
Sadly the league table sums up just how tin pot this league is.
3rd place loses almost 5 times as many games as 2nd place and the best of the rest can't even make it into plus goals.
