  1. Apparently the organisers of our displays have given a bit of design and organisational advice to both sets of fans, having put on our cup final displays in the same ground just two months back.

Certainly wouldn't claim either have stolen ideas, why would they when each club has different symbols of their fan culture.

Haven't seen St Johnstone's on SSN but saw the United one earlier when Andy McLaren was being interviewed and I have to say it looks smart as f**k. Fair play United fans!

    What's it like?

  2. To be fair most United fans on here are embarrassed, confused and frankly a little scared by the stuff that can be spouted on United mad at times and acknowledge that it's a complete clusterfuck of a forum. The best thing is to just try and pretend it's not there and avoid it as much as possible. :unsure2:

There's a few good posters on United Mad, but the good guy/w**k ratio is heavily weighted in favour of the latter. There's an informative poster on there called Shedka, who I'm sure is our very own ShedRuleFTD?

Not sure exactly how I'll react if we lose on Saturday. It'll be painful no doubt, but I have a feeling this will be tempered, minimally at least, by the fact that it's to a club like St Johnstone, whose fans will savour the win such as the occasion deserves. As opposed to another Old Firm procession met with general indifference from their supporters. That I saw us win it just four years ago might also help.

Still not ready to fully engage with that scenario though, so f**k the Saintees, an' all that.

  3. What pubs are the arabs on this forum leaving from? and what pre match venues are your destination

Me and my boy are leaving from Murphy's and apparently we are stopping at BannockBurn Miners social club ,would have preferred somewhere like Shettleston juniors but hey ho :thumsup2

Addy Bar. Stopping at the Celtic Club beside Parkhead.

Ardler to the East End of Glasgow.

    Frying pan, fire, etc.

  4. Thanks for the suggestions. I hadn't thought about giving them away but it's a possibility. I wouldn't say I'm loaded myself but there's always someone worse off isn't there? I had to get £35 tickets as I'm not a season-ticket holder so it seemed the perfect opportunity to recoup a little of that outlay. I'd certainly consider discounting them.

Try United Mad. Doubt there's many people yet to buy tickets at this stage but if you knock a few quid off them you never know.

Alternatively, convert them into swan figures using the ancient Japanese practice of Origami to relieve stress when Gavin Gunning is within 10 feet of the ball.

  5. Wonder if another very good Parkhead display from Gomis has given McNamara something to think about? Saw Richard Winton on Twitter mentioning the possibility of playing a midfield three of Paton, Rankin and Gomis to give us an extra body in midfield, but that would surely only push Rankin into a wider area he's not familiar with, as was the case today.

Same team as the Motherwell game and I'll be relatively happy.

    Six more attempted sleeps.

  6. Jim Spence is directly quoting a comment from Derek Robertson, as seen in yesterday's Courier!

At no point had he said we'd broken said record.

Feel free to apologise to Spencey when you feel fit.

    You get me, bruv?

He said: There is a real prospect now of the largest ever gathering of Arabs at a match and Id urge anyone thinking about going not to delay to avoid disappointment.

    That's not a direct quote.

Edit: Ian Roache in the Courier reported United were on the brink of their largest ever support. The next day Spence tweeted that United will have their largest ever support, which appeared to be an update to The Courier's piece. It wasn't, it was just Spence regurgitating Roache's story, but fucking it up semantically.

Are we at 28,001 yet so I can move on with the rest of my life?

  7. To be fair Spency didn't actually claim we'd sold that many yet!

As for United, the article Spency was referencing had a comment from Derek Robertson regarding the sales, "If the club can figure out a way of precisely tracking the sales..."

    Says it all.

The article said we were on brink of breaking the 28,000 mark. Spence said we had broken it. The club later confirmed we're still at 27,500.

Spence is an excitable blether with previous.

  8. Thanks mate!

For those who haven't heard it, you can listen to the full song here -

There is information in the video description about where you can download a copy (iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, Bandcamp). 50% goes to Saints' Youth Development fund and you can set your own price on Bandcamp if you wish to donate more than £1.

Good song. So the Fair Maid is a virgin, a metaphor for Saints' failure to win a trophy over the years?

As least if United lose I'll have the follow up single, Dirty Wee Tart, to look forward to.
