Just saw Ghost of Jim Morton on We Are Perth modelling the new Saints top in what appears to be the worst sports shop in the civilised world.
Still much better than our kit launch, right enough.

Jim Spence is involved in our cup final song.
1-0 us already.

Are they paying the difference for the kids tickets or the whole £35?
Not sure. Paying the difference would be the best way to do it as it would allow more kids to go. Would imagine some will be paid in full though for disadvantaged families who couldn't afford to go whatever the price.

Over 10K raised in less than 12 hours. Some effort.
That this will buy less than 300 kids tickets is a scandal.

Thanks mate!
For those who haven't heard it, you can listen to the full song here -
There is information in the video description about where you can download a copy (iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, Bandcamp). 50% goes to Saints' Youth Development fund and you can set your own price on Bandcamp if you wish to donate more than £1.
Good song. So the Fair Maid is a virgin, a metaphor for Saints' failure to win a trophy over the years?
As least if United lose I'll have the follow up single, Dirty Wee Tart, to look forward to.

And what if the ST holder was wanting to take 4 mates? It still doesn't prevent the fact that many people who don't normally go, but fancy taking their kids to a cup final would need to splash out £35 per kid.
Aye, I'm not disagreeing with you. Difficult situation for the club.

I'm really struggling to see how any blame can be pointed at the club. What would you suggest they should've done differently?
They could have restricted the sale to four per season ticket, or whatever. Boy who runs our bus bought 85, most of which were for non season ticket holders. Can understand why some people are pissed off.
But they were damned if they do and damned if they don't ultimately. There are always some mightily pissed off people with these occasions. The SFA could have drew in some much needed good publicity by making as many concession tickets available as possible for a match that will never sell out.

Or a big orange COCK and a massive blue WOMBLE.
I'd go to the doctors about that if I was you.

The League Cup doesn't compare to the real Cup!
Ross County took waaay more than expected in 2010
Did the Ross County chairman buy a wedge of tickets and dish them out to kids and families, or am I going senile?
Remember the erstwhile Captain Sensible lampooning the Utd/County final prior to tickets going on sale, suggesting we could play it at Fir Park or such like. Bit of a minter for him when County shifted 7,000 more tickets than St Mirren managed for their league cup final two months earlier.
South Enclosure is this thread's answer to the Captain, though in a more half-witted, mono-browed sort of fashion.

Take it the Sevconians, in the interests of consistency, will take the 25 points deduction on the chin and not attempt to argue that this is the new club's first insolvency event?

The thread that won't die.
Unlike Sevco.

I've never met or spoke to Ronnie Esplin - I just know he tends to edit programmes for the SFA. Glad I've managed to impress you though."Full body minter"
Aye, we're all mightily impressed. Thanks for offering me a glimpse into the inner sanctum of match programme editing.

What a colossal smart arse you are.
It was a rather convoluted way of name dropping the boy who does the programmes for the SFA.
Full body minter.

Good lord, it's nice to have a normal match thread after the cup semi shitshow.
Early days. Wait till Tree House Tam's come down wears off.

Beginning to wonder if this game is actually going ahead as there is absolutely no mention of it on Dundee Mad?

Did St Johnstone not have about 11,000 at the League Cup final against Oldco about 15 years ago? Going back a bit obviously but you'd reckon they'd bring at least that for a bigger and more winnable game.
About 15,000 Saints I reckon.

United v Aberdeen final would be the ultimate f**k you to the Armageddonists.
But Aberdeen would likely pump us.
Mon the Saintees.

Brilliant photos, Dirty Arab. Never seen them before.

The thing I remember most about the old Shed at Tannadice was the smell - a stew of tobacco, pies and methane.
I almost miss it.

I've stayed in the hotel across from that pub before. Right on the Clyde. Maybe the pilot was aiming for a crash landing on the river but fell short.

Rangers v Stenhousemuir
Both teams to score
Yes: 21/20 (Ladbrokes)
No: 11/10 (Paddy Power)

Holy f**k.
Lennon's record in the cups is hilariously shite. He's like a white Jimmy Calderwood.

Cocaine does cause misery. Can't remember the last time I got some decent gear. Sounds like these brave gals were trying to rectify that.
Godspeed.

Take it that's just part of the North Stand upper? LL Stand, North Lower and Upper, and half Main Stand would be about 27,000 would it not?
