Ludicrous second yellow card for Oakley but hard to make any claims that it changed the game very much and probably worked in Accies favour as it turned what was an abject performance up to the sending offΒ  into a somewhat heroic rear guard performance and a morale boosting point.

It's not that there wasn't some positives with the full defence looking solid with Stubbs in particular outstanding but most of the familiar issues were there - absolutely zero width, midfield missed out with countless aimless long balls, no-one left up the park when defending corners etc.....

All these things I can reluctantly accept but going to our main relegation rivals with a full squad and setting up with zero press and to allow them all the possession and also time waste from 15 minutes was tame to say the least.

Last season we took a comfortable 6 points from our first 2 games with St Mirren and ultimately it proved essential in avoiding the play-offs. Saturday we set up for a point from the off - is Rice really making progress???Β

    Β

Would agree with most of that. Thought St.Mirren looked better against 11.

Don't know why Accies didn't have more of a go.

I reckon we'll go with three - budget might limit us to that anyway.

You assume White will be one, based on the rumours, and he's near enough a straight swap for Cooke anyway. I think we need a bit of pace up there, though, and that's where it gets tricky.

I honestly wouldn't be averse to Jackson coming back.Β

Would agree with that, thought Jackson showed a bit of class at times. Was unfortunate to be the 1 up front, and as soon as we changed to 2 up front, he was dropped.

Don't think some ever forgave him for the pen at St.J'stone.

That's the problem for me. Β We used to cherry pick Neilston's best players and now we are content to take their cast offs . Β  If they aren't good enough for the Farmers Boys, why does Dunky think they will improve us? Β Β

Yes, long gone are the days when Neilston were our feeder club !

It's far from ideal. I mean, on the face of it, it does no real harm, but then you hear that Robbie Neilson's reasons for pulling out the interview process last summer* were related to unrealisticΒ expectations, and you begin to wonder.

I just can't shake the feeling that he perhaps shouldn't be our chief exec. I want a role for him at the club - ambassador, or something - but he has to tone this stuff down.

I don't get why he can't say 'the aim has to be to start challenging for a top-six finish', which would be a perfectly reasonable ambition (but not an expectation), albeit one not based on any league tables from the past 35 years.Β

    Β

    * Obviously with hindsight I'd rather be where we are than where he is, but still, he'd have been a much better shout thanΒ Stubbs.

There's no way he should be the chief exec. He hasn't a clue.

Club legend, but not a chief exec.

Anyone trying to get a ticket for either the home or away leg of this tie will no doubt realise by now what a fucking amateur, small time setup we have at this club.

An absolute comedy of errors. Tannadice tickets go on sale at 5pm today. Online only. But there's no time to post them out, so come down and pick them up tomorrow or Wednesday. But don't try and walk up to the booth to buy one as you can only order online.

Oh and for the home leg, the ticket office is open 5pm-7pm on Thursday - when most of the fans will be headed to Tannadice.....but it's FUCKING CLOSED ALL DAY SATURDAY.

Absolute shitshow...I apologise to any St. Johnstone or Morton fan I have accused of having a small time, wee team mentality. My own club can't even sell tickets to their own fans for the biggest two matches of the season.

And prepare to queue for hours, as there is 1 person in ticket office, and queue is huge.

    O'Sullivan to be dropped ?
He was one of our better players.

    I agree with Miller.
A few months ? Mare like just January and we then had people talking about a comfortable finish in 10th.

Another big game. Will be attending, same as youngest to tick this stadium aff

I thought that as well, especially first half on Saturday.

We have had at least 3 players identified, lined up and ready to sign but they got better offers at the last minute. Hardly the Club's fault that players all have agents touting their clients for the best deal. Unless anyone on here is actually doing the job of trying to sign players maybe we should cut some slack to those that do have that job.

It's the club's fault they didn't have a plan B in case things went tits up. It's also the club's fault they appointed an utter moron in the first place.

Only team's fans that say he's anything other than shite are St Mirren fans.

In fairness there are a few that see through the 'loves the club' shite.

He's one of the worst I've seen. Gets away with his mistakes in the championship, but found out every time in the big league.

The only compliment I could give him, is that he can save pens.

Gilmour is a sweetie wife, who loves a bit of tittle tattle.

That's not to say that he isn't onto something here, but the man who - along with others - appointed Tommy Craig, isn't, for me, best placed to bitch on social media about the managerial situation.

It's ironic that he has so much to say now,Β  as for about the last year of his chairmanship, the silence from the club was deafening.

That's a fair post. I think people's issue with Stubbs comes from him moving on players like Reilly, and telling others they have no future, like Eckersley and MacKenzie, without bringing in better players.

If the players he brings in do him a job and are indeed better than those he moved on then no one will question him. At the moment his signings don't look better.

All that said, it's early doors and players will take time to adjust to different surroundings. My own feelings are that he has been a bit hasty in telling players they have no future.

There was plenty of time for Reilly to sign, but he/his agent decided to play the waiting game to see what else happened.Β  As much as I'm a bit underwhelmed by some of Stubbs signings, he was totally correct to withdraw the offer. And surprise surprise, as soon as it's withdrawn, Reilly is in the papers saying he was desperate to sign !

The solution is simple put Jack Ross on gardening leave while he sorts out his future , we have capable people at the club who can deal with pre contracts and renewals.Jack Ross should not be involved in player recruitment going forward, that should be the sole remit of his successor

Put the manager of the year on gardening leave ?

    That's the best yet.
