  1. It’s a massive anti-climax. My local started closing at 10pm (it’s family owned), so they can celebrate it together and not have to be working. I ended up going straight down the road and in my kip by 11pm.
This year, going to nip up for a couple of pints and we are heading back to a mates house to see in the bells. The missus is driving as she is a bit under the weather.

We go away on NYD every year for a meal and an overnight. As I get older, that is more important than going out and getting hammered (also, I generally do that on a standard weekend anyway!).

  2. Social media is poison, people acting like absolute fannies on the internet, including P&B.
This isn’t a problem limited to these two clubs.

I suppose, naturally, it’s more noticeable due to the larger numbers. However is see very little of their fellow fans shouting them down, which I reckon most other clubs fans would do.
  3. Anyone else noticed an increase in some pretty sick point scoring from both sides of the Glasgow Scum? Is it due to the dregs of society having a voice through social media?

In the aftermath of the recent match, I seen the use of Lee Rigby, Phil O’Donnell, Lisbon Lions, Fernando Ricksen and the Ibrox Disater as ways of having a go at the opposition. I just can’t get my head around it, especially when the ones using the reference to Lisbon Lions not seeing further titles has posts about the unfortunate death of Ricksen in their recent social media.

This is all before the reported racial abuse and the denials from the other side. Clubs built on hatred and nothing more!

  4. On form, this is surely a home win banker. We are flying just now, but do have a few injuries creeping in and had a tough trip to Dingwall yesterday.

Cole is rumoured to have already left to head back to Wigan and Long is struggling with injury. One bonus is that it could see Scott through the middle, rather than out wide. Gallagher and Hartley have developed a great partnership at the back so no real concerns there.

Would be disappointed not to pick up the 3 points. Would put us on 40points before the winter break, which would be outstanding!

  5. I’m not saying Hearts won’t stay up, but this misplaced confidence that they’re “too big to go down” is staggering.

Whilst going down is a possibility, I fully expect big changes in the January window and they will turn it around. Saying that, they will need players that can hit the ground running which isn’t always easy to source in the January window.
We threw some money at it and managed to escape through the play offs and from memory, County done the same that season. Teams like St Mirren and Accies just don’t have that option (neither do we anymore!).
Hearts going down with one of the biggest budgets outside the OF would be absolutely hilarious!
  6. Any Motherwell fans going to the game and getting a bus back to Inverness, good luck. There's nothing after 4:19 until 7.
More time for drinking in the Mallard, I guess.

Decided not to bother. Have a hotel booked in Inverness, but after speaking to a couple of taxi companies, was around £150 return from Inverness to Dingwall due to the enhanced fare. Was also meaning an early start to drive up from Lanarkshire due to no train service. More bother than it is worth!

I reckon a score draw today, which wouldn’t be the worst point and would see us ticking over. Would be disappointed to come away with nothing.
  7. I’m looking for Dec 2020 and the prices for hotels are through the roof in Manhattan. The GBP to USD rate is making a big impact. £250+ per night seems to be the going rate.
Going to hold off until January to see what possibly comes up as a deal.

  8. Was sitting in the Killie end, opposite end of the pitch from the away fans.
Said to my Killie supporting mate that the GKs set up for the FK was questionable before it was struck. We both thought it looked a fairly routine save for the GK.
Thought we shaded the opening 70mins, with us improving once Polworth came on for Donnelly. Never created a huge amount, but we closed down well and we’re good in possession.
Killie had the better of the last 20mins and should really have scored one of the chances they created. Brophy will kick himself for missing what was pretty much a sitter and Gillespie made a few decent saves towards the end as well.
    Brilliant 3 points!

  9. This has got 0-0 written all over it. Our recent record at Killie hasn’t been great, but this current side are a little bit different to the teams we have fielded in recent seasons. A bit more about them.

Highlight will without a doubt be ending the night in Fannys! Always a pleasure!

  10. It's not about someone being offended, it's about what they might do with it.
You never know what's going on with someone else and they might use the feedback from you to defend him or herself and pass the buck to you for something you are unaware of.
Alternatively, they might take offence at what you say and make a complaint about you. Regardless of how honest or true the feedback is.
There is no good reason to do this. Nothing to do with 'growing a set'.

You’re constructive then really what have you got to worry about?
If I was hearing an HR case in the scenario of someone raising a grievance due to not liking feedback that was provided constructively, then I would laugh it out the door and have the report done very quickly.
  11. No, you're a cūnt. If you're travelling cattle, or even first class your clearly not that important to the organisation that your input is so valuable it can't wait. Or your work is so unimportant that it's not even confidential or sensitive enough to avoid possible disclosure.
I prescribe you keep it in the bag, eat pies and drink as a cure.

Doing this is not the reason I’m a c**t, there are plenty other reasons for that...

I generally travel in first class, but have done it in standard class. A privacy screen keeps out the nosey wankers like yourself.

My lion taming business for the UK wide circus is extremely important and if it failed then it would bring this fine nation to its knees!
  12. It would have been around 2001 when I had my first pint in a pub. It would have been a run of the mill Tennants or maybe a Stella. It was around the £1.75 mark.

When drinking in the pub regularly, I recall the pints going directly from £1.95 to £2.05. Outrage across the old regulars at the time.

My local still does a pint of Tennants for £3. I tend to drink Guinness these days, but fairly reasonable price for a pint the thick end of 20 years after I got my first one at £1.75!

  13. I have no issue in sending the feedback to both the line manager and the colleague. So long as you’re constructive, then no issue with you providing the feedback directly to him. If the guy receiving the feedback is offended, then he really shouldn’t be asking for feedback.

Grow a set and just give him the feedback directly.

  14. Working on a laptop on a train marks you down as a cūnt.

On the bog standard commute to work, yes, but on a train heading south it’s not the case. Often get the train when working down south and generally get a few hours to catch up on things both ways.
  15. Currently looking at options for Dec 2020 (I like to be really prepared...).
Hotels are getting more and more expensive, probably down to the GBP/USD exchange rate.
Seen a good offer for a 4* down at Wall Street. Never stayed down that area before, anyone give me any insight?

  16. Got my missus a Vauxhall Crossland X at the start of the year. She came in this morning complaining that her electronic screen used to control most feature on the car wasn’t working properly.
Seems that it is not recognising that the engine is switched on and that the vehicle has power (message comes up when you try to amend the climate settings saying so).
This obviously isn’t impacting the general running of the vehicle, but means that the radio switches itself off after a short time as it’s not recognising the engine being on. It also means that she can’t change the direction of the heaters etc.

Tried to Google it, but can’t seem to find anything on the subject. Tried resetting it to factory settings, but again, didn’t work.

Going to put it into the garage, but wondered if anyone had any ideas before I make the call and they no doubt try and rip me off for something that I don’t actually need!
