  1. And a red card.

Surely you’re not saying that Cole should have been shown a red card for the tackle that gave away the penalty? Stupidly on Cole’s part and it was a penalty, but to say that is a red card is beyond laughable.

Livi came with a game plan and it was working. Tried to nullify our wingers and force us to play through the middle. This resulted in us creating very little. Livi in turn rarely threatened at the other end. Shocker from the GK for the first goal, I’ve already covered the penalty above and we got a bit of luck for the winner.

Won’t be a match that anyone will be looking the highlights out in the future.
  2. That’s Robinson into favourite for the Hearts job, bringing back memories of when Billy Stark was 1/4 to be appointed our manager.

If it is the situation they want to appoint by the middle of next week, it suggests they are a bit further down the line than most teams would tend to be when they only sacked their gaffer seven hours ago?

Pretty hopeful this is all guess work on the part of the media.

I really don’t think that Robinson will go to Hearts. He has made comments about being a really good fit for Motherwell and vice versa. Hearts would need to pay a reasonable sum of compensation for him as well.
Only thing making me doubt my gut feel is the McCann link through NI. They have been part of the same coaching staff at NI so will have a relationship (no idea if it’s positive or not). From the statement, it looks like McCann will be staying in role, so having a cracking at a bigger club with an assistant he knows could be appealing to him.

We shall wait and see, but I’m not worried about the outcome.
  3. Was away a fortnight ago on a cruise in the Western Med. this is the second cruise I’ve been on in the last few years and I’ve come to the conclusion that it isn’t for me.
Arriving in different places each day is a plus, but you don’t have enough time to do it justice. It’s also not particularly relaxing as you’re off each day and always on the go.
The ships are pretty good quality and the food is decent, without being exceptional.
Doubt I’ll be planning another one anytime soon!

  4. I actually liked Josh Law but he epitomised what we'd become during the end of McCall's tenure.
Signed for no other reason than he was Nicky Law's brother. Started as an attacking player before somehow ending up at right back. He always tried which is why I liked him but he was way out of his depth.

We focused on having the best XI that we could and then had utter muck as back up.
You only need to look at the level some of the players are playing at now to see that.
Josh Law is at Basford United in the English Northern Premier League, Fraser Kerr is at Hartlepool and Adam Cummins is a gym instructor/part time at Stranraer. Throw in Lee Hollis who is turning out in junior football, having not played professional beyond his 28th birthday.
  5. Jesus Christ that sounds bad but was that normal for that year as I've just had my first cruise, and yeah, its my first and not normally the type of holiday that would interest me.
    it was fantastic / amazing,.
I took a Mediterranean cruise with the MSC Seaview it can take about 5500, I got a good deal with a big room, all inclusive drinking and food package. Out of the 7 nights there was one night where you felt a slight sway but all in all in the bedroom you would not think you were at sea.  We stopped off a shores to go and explore, think we used the schedule coaches twice, the rest of the times we just did our own thing and explore the local city or town. We took one of the ships tours which was of Vatican City and so glad we did, it was well worth it and if we did it ourselves it would have been a nightmare. bringing drink and food back on was never a problem and we were allowed to take as much drink with us on our tours when we left the cruise ship, water and juice and as much food, sandwiches, fruit etc.... You never share a restaurant unless you pick the restaurant where they do seat you at a table next to other unknown guests but its by choice and was only at 1 restaurant.

Would I do it again, hell yeah
Would I happily recommend going on a cruise, hell yeah
I suppose the experience of the ship as amazing so picking the right ship and cruise package does matter, we just struck it lucky as it all fell into place
We started at Barcelona, Went to Ajaccio, Genoa, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Cannes, Palma de Mallorca, and then back to Barcelona,
    It was amazing

I’m doing that exact cruise in a months time, also on MSC Seaview!
  6. When the prices started to sneak above the £20 mark, it then started to get beyond the value for money barrier. We are now talking about getting little to no change from £30 a some grounds. That is probably the breaking point for me.

You add in travel, food and beers and you’re getting to the thick end of £100 for an afternoon. You then add in your evening socialising and it’s becomes an expensive weekend.

£20 is the marker for me and it’s way beyond that now.
Pick and choose matches these days!

  7. Heading off on cruise in October for a week.

Barcelona, Ajaccio, Genoa, La Spezia, Civitaveccia, Cannes, Palma and finish back at Barcelona.

Anybody recommend anything interesting to get up to in any of the places? I’ll probably do Rome when we are in Civitaveccia.

  8. I went for a test drive this morning. Other than a gear box that feels slightly vague and a biting point thats a bit higher up the clutch, it drove pretty well. The 130 version of the engine didnt feel underpowered or sluggish. Certainly something I can live with.
I'm picking it up as soon as my bank clear my loan.

The two mentions around the gear box and the clutch are the two things I notice when I jump in. I’m bound to find a car a bit strange if I am only jumping in it once a month or so.
  9. Car shopping tomorrow.
Going to test drive a Vauxhall Crossland X. It's within my budget and looks to have decent kit but it'll come down to the drive. I was put off buying a Corsa last time because I'm not an 18 year old ned and because even with a 1.4 engine it felt really underpowered.
Other options would be a year old Qashqai. I liked the size and the comfort when I had one as a courtesy car. Also looking at a 2019 Honda Jazz 1.5 sport. Had a first gen Jazz and it was a great wee car to own. I like the idea of the updated sport version.

I bought the wife a Crossland X at the start of the year. She seems to like it. I drive it occasionally and it’s a decent enough drive. Not particularly powerful when pulling away, but depends what your used to.
  10. That Morton GK is utter mince. If he is going to be your number 1 then you’re in bother.

Thought we played well, but we were quite open at the back and a better team would have punished us.

I’m not getting excited yet. I’ll wait another month or so before putting on my bet of us winning the treble.

  11. Good luck to them and obviously we all hope this works out and we have a better season than last. I am slightly surprised by the timing of this given we don't yet know if Robinson's latest attempt at building a team will be better than last year's disastrous effort but it's done now and only time will tell.

As much as I reckon you’re the worlds biggest troll, you’re spot on with the above. His summer recruitment last year was a disaster and a lot of ‘Well fans would have had him gone around Christmas time. He got lucky that he stumbled upon two players who went off to a flyer in Turnbull and Hastie, along with the signing of Aryibi in January.

It’s a gamble either way in renewing now or wait and see how he gets on. I would have probably held off for a couple of months.
  12. Nipped into Tesco whilst in the office yesterday. Picked up a standard £3 meal deal, with a surprisingly tasty wrap. A limited edition jerk chicken effort. Didn’t have high expectations, but it hit the spot!

Hoping it isn’t too long before it moves from limited edition to regular item.
